And different families are differently affectionate, and different people are even within families. My daughter's on her way to college, and I still kiss her at least twice a day (goodbye in the morning, and goodnight); we also hug a lot. But my dad certainly wasn't that way with my sister.

making sense of US foreign policy???

well it must be deadly boring in Croatia this winter

there is nothing mysterious about it... it is there to make money for those who put presidents into the oval office... pretty straight deal i'd think for those who have $$$ to invest into politicians. Best return on investment I heard (not only there either)

I think that might actually be a bad photo. She was mentioned on somethingawful a while back (they were castigating Harry Knowles for slobbering over her) and the pic they used looked pretty hot.

Just out of curiousity, are there any books about Neoconservatism by people you would not consider a hack journalist, that aren't anti-NC?

I would suggest that perhaps your personal biases might affect your opinion here a bit I'm not a neocon myself, but they do have a philosophy, odd as it is.

You might try studying Wilson's foreign policy as a start to understanding neoconservativism.

(OK, so I took the OP seriously. Sue me.)

Actually, "neoconservative" has a very specific meaning, but through association with the Bush administration, has come to be a catchall phrase for anything unthinking radicals don't like.

I hate the term neoconservative, because it makes it sound like the old conservatives weren't ****ed up too.

The original neocons seem to be burned on democracy promotion (see Pakistan, Egypt, and Palestine for instance). I don't know if it really means anything anymore besides more war against miscellaneous political entities that they loop together under the umbrella of "Islamofascism."

Even when not used pejoratively it doesn't mean what it originally did.

I want to know if the book to which the OP refers deals with this confuscation of the term or not. If it doesn't, reading about a political philosophy that no longer means what it used to mean isn't going to give much insight into U.S. foreign policy.

Quit being such a....a...DinoDoc
