Default Get Off Of My TV/Radio!!!
Be glad you don't live in Iowa or New Hampshire; those folks got hammered. Your primaries will be in just a couple of weeks. Hang in there, buy a walkman and borrow books-on-CD from the library.

I very much sympathize... the next ten months are going to be complete hell in Chicago, where everyone running for the ****ing school board has to run a tv ad...

Sounds like yet another reason to avoid TV.

Most Canadians receive US stations with their cable subscription. I grew up watching Buffalo news (Tonawanda is always on fire) and Detroit stations are on the cable package here.

No, but they should be banned b/c they are just plain awful.

We could have an interesting discussion wrt Canadian commercial policy on the American TV feeds (sometimes the US ads are removed and replaced with Cdn ones...) but that would be yet another threadjack.

Multitasking

When an annoying commercial comes on, ignore it, and go back to playing [fill in game].

Of course, sometimes I get so absorbed in the game that I ignore the show I was watching and have to go back to the recording to see what I missed.

Alright, I thought the TV/Radio was bad but this takes the cake.

I am fooling around with the gf this morning and her phone rings. We let it go to the machine and what do we hear in the background? "Hello, I'm Hillary Clinton and I want to talk to you about..."

Needless to say the moment was ruined. I know Democrats think everyone south of the Mason Dixon line are ignorant sub-human ape like creatures, but who actually thinks a recorded message on election day is going to change anyone's mind.

On my way home I heard my favorite campaign add yet. A Barrack radio add thats dialogue went something like this...

"Awwww you know it girl, that Barrack has his finger on the pulse of us black foke." "You tell it sista, wees finally have a candidate that knows how wees does it." "Thats right girl." "You better hurry up and eats those collards so we can go vote for Obama!"

Or something along those lines. I was actuallydumb struck. One hour until the polls close ...
