Well, it's not so surprising that they came from the former USSR. Since the fall of the communists, Russia and it's neighbors have had a plethora of neo-nazi groups popping up. IIRC Russia leads the world in nazi-related violence... The fact that they are jews is insignificant here IMO.

This deserves it's own thread. But nazis and racist xenophobes thrive in countries where people are poor and desperate. Germany in the 30's. Britain under Thatcher. Russia after 1991...

And let's not forget that there's been strong antisemitic influences in Russia et al since the Soviet days and the persecution of Trotskij and others.
