Within 2 minutes walk there's a small market (but you shouldn't buy anything there that needs to be stored below room temperature). They also sell crappy pizzas...
If we double the walking distance, then we get to another crappy pizza place and some beaches

If I was asked this 2 years ago I could have answered that I lived near ~10 pizza places, lots of restaurants and lots of bars

Yes, thanks very much..however if I decided to walk at 2.5 times my normal speed for whatever reason, the list above will provide you with what I will find...

And yes, I do live in suburbia...ta very much... And how much driving can you get done in 2 minutes when you have to get in your car start it, drive and park. A bicycle, however, is a different matter

2 minutes. how far is 2 minutes? We have a dumpy pub in a small strip shopping center. a jack in the box. a circle K. The strip center has a generic chinese restaurant, a smoke shop, a generic pizza shop, and maybe a cleaners. I never go there. And we also have a 99 cent store. The rest are just houses.

2 minutes? That's not far. That's less than a mile, I'd imagine. More houses, a cemetary, maybe the elementary school. Maybe you could make it to the high school in 2 minutes, but it would be close.

There can be little doubt that this is an honest answer though. Originally posted by Aro
Ipanema Beach (actually, it's within 30 sec walk of my house...
Domino's pizza
Many restaurants
Video rental
A drugstore
A bakery
A super market
Copacabana
Lots of pubs
A school
A newspaper store (I know there's a name for this... ) In fact, I was exaggerating… I take my chronometer and did some measurements today. The video store isn’t within the two minutes walk. Make it a 4 min walk. And just two restaurants are in that boundary… Let me see… Oh, I need three minutes to reach Copacabana, and Ipanema Beach is exactly on the limit of the two minutes walk range.

Hey, cut me some slack. I was still waking up. Hell, I'm still waking up now. Four day weekends rock, but the first day back is rough

I was thinking about a walking speed of 4mph and my confuzzled brain concluded (w/o really thinking about it, obviously) that this meant 1 mile in 4 minutes.
