Hi,
I have recieved the Belt which has been touched by the actual belt of Mother Mary, were women were it around their waist to conceive. I would like to give it to a couple that are Assyrian, and I was wondering how do I explain to them what to do? It came with a paper written in Greek. Does anyone have this in English?? Thanks |

Wrap it around the waist of the mother-to-be. Pray with tears and for the Will of God to be done through the intercession of His holy mother the Theotokos. And then, well, hummm, you know...the birds and the bees thing. Repeat if necessary the whole set of instructions not just the last part. It ain't magic, but tenacity and persistence help.

Here is a translation of the leaflet provided with the cotton ribbon which has been blessed on the Venerable Belt of the Mother of God, as provided by the Vatopedi Monastery:
This ribbon is blessed on the Venerable Belt of the most-holy Mother of God, which has been kept since the 14th century at the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedion. It was a gift of the Byzantine emperor John Kantakouzinos. It is an ancient tradition to give these ribbons to pious pilgrims, through which, by the grace of the most-holy Mother of God, to whom this Monastery is dedicated, many miracles have occurred. By the blessing of the Venerable Belt of the Mother of God, the condition of childlessness in particular has been overcome, and many childless couples have gone on to bear children. As well, sufferers of cancer and othere debilitating ailments have been cured. The faithful gird themselves with the ribbon for a period of time, with repentance, confession, prayer, and partaking of Holy Communion. Likewise, childless couples observe the same, with fasting and temperance in marital relations according to their ability and agreement. A sincere spiritual life, along with repentance and participation in the holy Mysteries of the Church should, of course, be kept throughout our life, as it is the only means of attaining closeness to God, in this age, and in the age to come. |
