Don't wait to the last minute and cram (prolly too late for this). Instead study a bit at a time in small blocks. Research shows that if you study 30 minutes a day over 5 days, instead of 2 1/2 hours in one day, you will retain more information.
If you have multiple subjects to study, and this you cannot get around studying in large 2 1/2 blocks, don't study a single subject in that large block. Study one subject for an hour, take a reasonable break, then study a different subject for the next hour. Again research shows that you will retain more if you vary subjects being studied in a single large block. But most importantly, relax! (And by relax, I don't mean do something more relaxing than studying. I mean study, study, study in short blocks with breaks, but don't let it stress you out!) Stress is your biggest enemy. Study hard, but breathe easy. Oh, and yeah, strictly limit your time on the computer. Perhaps only come on for 15/20 minutes at a time between blocks of studying. Just make sure you don't waste too much of your valuable time ... or else you will be left cramming and stressing! |

You can't really do much in a week. Either you've studied well thruout the sem and will pass or you didn't, for one reason or another, and will fail/pass by the skin of your teeth.
My general tips:

****... I can't make a Duck and Cover joke since this isn't Vent.
Not surprisingly, a lot of this coincides with advice I give people who are going to interviews or taking skill tests. Except for the first item of course. I'd also suggest eating right and getting exercise daily leading up to the test, but that typically takes months to see any notable improvement. Ultimately, just practice and don't worry about it too much. You should rest the day before so that you're coming into the exam strong. |
