This morning, the grandfather of my baby's mom who was 82 died in his residence while sleeping. I didn't know that it was acceptable to bury the person on their property and on the same day that they died. Is this a common occurrence in the DR, or only in el campo? I was somewhat shocked. I met him twice and he had been sickly for the last year or so, very nice man, but it wasn't a huge shock to anyone.
