She has no other reason to show her overdone teeth. Her record sales are non-existent and radio play has been paid and wasted. She survives just like other merengue groups.....parties and reduced fee for concerts and sharing musical instruments.
She will aslo get some money for the presidential campaign and got money from Fello Subervi for her survival during the free concerts given by the tourist bureau. This is what I call subsidized music. I know she won't be around much longer, but it was nice to see her go off happy. |

The only reason she won is because the committee felt sorry for her and Juan Luis Guerra pleaded for her, in lieu of his relationship with the Grammy committee. It was not hard to help her since her perennial nemesis Olga Taņon and her other rival Gisselle decided to put merengue on their backburner and are now using their time for pop music, where they are being successful and making lots of money.
So Millie had the merengue group all to herself. It would have been embarrassing for a Dominican not to win this again. But Millie never saw the limelight and her few fans never got to see her, because the merengue presentation was never shown in the Grammy program and was left to news releases only. Nobody cares about this award. Millie as usual, in the news pictures today looks like the chopa she is, overweight, overdone and totally ridiculous. She is a shame to DR. We need new pretty talented faces to feel proud. Not this crap. TW |

This is what I call subsidized music. If you take a drive thru any barrio in DR you will never hear her music. The barrios have been taken over by bachata, Tego Calderon and his regetton buddies and salsa. TW |
