This is the reason I haven't responded to this thread. Instead of have Angels in the out field on this board you have idiots in the back field..

If you don't believe in God only you & God cares so no need to burden us with your remarks.. Sin was asking a probing question about God & the here after so there was no need for you God haters to weigh in..

I believe in god.

I believe that Jesus Christ (our Savior) was the Son of God.

2,000 years after his death, he’s still the most influential life that ever existed on earth.

I’m just one of over a billion followers worldwide.

His life-story is the best-seller every year

His birth-date divides history: BC (before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini = ‘in the year of our Lord’)

When I contemplate the universe, I can not conceive of a small speck of nothing blowing up to create it all. I.e. There are more stars in our galaxy than grains of sand on the earth. After contemplating that I find out there are more galaxies in the universe than stars in our galaxy. All this from a speck?

I am truly convinced that prayer works. My main evidence is in my personal life. I am fully convinced that prayer helped me fully recover from a severe case of polio when I was a child. The doctors said I would never walk again. I had no use of my right leg in the second grade. It atrophied and hung usless as I used crutches to get around in school. We prayed to God to let me walk again. I fully recovered and was on the swimming team in high school. This is just one of many times in my life that prayer has worked.

With my limited (although genius IQ ) intelligence I defer to the truly gifted.

Steven Hawkins in his book A Brief History of Time, explains that this singularity of the point that this so called Big Bang took place, as we know, we cannot go further than the Planks Constant of one times ten to the minus 43(10E-43), because all physical laws that we understand cease to exist. He said that black holes are where god divided by zero.

Einstein regularly read the Bible, Old and New Testaments alike (which he continued to do throughout his life). Einstein believed. This is clearly reflected in an interview which Einstein later in life gave to an American magazine, The Saturday Evening Post, in 1929:

We must have been posting at the same time DB. Wonderful testomony. I also have wonderful miracles to tell. One of my child hood friends also had polo, they told her she would never be "normal", never walk without crutches, etc., we prayed even though I was a child for her. Unfortunatly I have lost contact over the years but the last contact she was fully cured with a family of her own.

The miracles in my own life are remarkable, especially with my son. Am I perfect? Heck no and never will be, but my faith is strong even though sometimes my mind goes weak.

It seems to me that a person has nothing to lose if they accept the permise/theory that there is a God and takes it on themself to study the bible to satisfy in their own mind if they can believe or not. If you believe in God & there is none you have nothing to lose but if you don't believe in God & there is one then it seems to me you have a lot to lose.

Mans relationship with God is a very personal thing so you need to forget what others have said, for like death you must seek God alone with an open mind. No one can seek God for you, they can only encourage you to keep searching..

I can't believe we are here on this earth just to have babies & fill space for a short time. If there is no after life does any of this really matter? Someone may remember you were here for a short time but if you become nothing after death, does it matter if you're remembered for that short time or not?

Sin just maybe there is a God & because of the prayers of others he has allowed you to beat the odds so far so you can set out on that quest to discover the truth.. One can only hope because there are no hard facts. It all comes down to what you youself come to believe.. Good luck on your test..

No matter how religious you may or may not be, this can give you chills.

Phil. 4:13 states:
"I can do all things through Christ Who gives me strength."

Here's the story:

A young man who had been raised as an atheist was training to be an
Olympic diver. The only religious influence in his life came from his
outspoken Christian friend. The young diver never really paid much
attention to his friend's sermons, but he heard them often.

One night the diver went to the indoor pool at the college he attended.
The lights were all off, but as the pool had big skylights and the moon
was bright, there was plenty of light to practice by.

The young man climbed up to the highest diving board and as he turned
his back to the pool on the edge of the board and extended his arms out,
he saw his shadow on the wall.
The shadow of his body, was in the shape of a cross. The man felt a
strange feeling, like someone was speaking to him. Instead of diving, he
knelt down and finally asked God to come into
his life. As the young man stood, a maintenance man walked in and turned
the lights on. The pool had been drained for repairs.

The answer to your two questions are...

yes

and

yes

as long as the homeless person prayed for themselves. Without having any faith that there is a God you won't understand what is being talked about here. Sorry I can't help you. By asking the questions to start with, you have come to the point where you have to help yourself...

[QUOTE=Idnew].
Sorry MJ to me you just sound trashy. Maybe you aren't but you come off that way. Sorry from the old school. I will say tho that I have used the F word when I was really mad but I regreted it later and I do not use it in every day language, nor do I use it in every sentence like I have heard some do and it just sounds like trash to say it whenever you speak. I feel the same way about saying god damn. As far as us being jealous of a teen ager that is a joke as I have g-children close to your age and they know to respect me and others, without the potty mouth. I'll come closer to listening to you without the trash added. Apparently MJ you are hung up on that word even to using it in your title which I would appreciate you change or I will do it for you. And one other thing MJ some day you will be a grumpy old woman and I hope you learn something along the way that you can pass on to your g-children besides the word "F".
QUOTE]

sin, im not even going to bother to reply. u know nothin about me. i know nothin about u. lets keep it that way. ignore my posts and dont bother to reply to this.

idnew, 1st, dont call me trashy, i may think things about u from the way u talk, but i hav the respect not to call u names about it. 2nd, i used the F word as an example, and all of a sudden i use it in my every day language. i cant even remember the last time i said it, although how i choose to speak, or not speak as the case actually is, is really none of anyones business. whats more, u may find it hard to believe but i agree, people who say the F word like ten times in a sentance is trash, however people who say it like once a month or whatever like me AND U are jus normal people.
U or anyone religious my not like me using GOD DAMN, but that is coz u are religious. I AM NOT. my sayin GOD DAMN means the same to me as u sayin GOSH DAMN. they are jus words to me. they hav no ill effect if said.

also this thread is about what gods u believe in, why should my opinion be worthless jus because i dont believe in any gods?
im stating what i believe in. and why should i put up with being trashed by u or sin or anyone because we dont believe in the same things, or coz i use the F word as an example to explain how i feel.

if u wanna slate me or the way i speak, then get to know me and the way i actually speak, dont assume u know becasue i give an example u dont like.

long winded, but i wanted to get it across so there was no doubt u actually understand what i say, not so u can make bits up.

Well for one thing MJ I lost count of how many posts of yours I edited that word out.

As far as this thread and your opinions you certainly have that right and that's what the topic is about.

I would agree with that, Tig - to an extent. If one's religious beliefs encourage one to keep going in the face of adversity, or to treat one's fellow people and creatures with respect, then there is a net good being done, irrespective of whether or not God exists. If there is no God and no afterlife, then a dead person won't be concerned about being scammed, either!

There is much real danger in trusting those who wish to impose their religious beliefs on to one, but that is an entirely worldly affair, and does not concern God. America, sadly, is full of quasi-religious conmen. (And not just America.)

I agree, Dip. I should amend that last sentence to read "There's a lot to potentially lose by turning your life over to religion."
