Here's a quote from the article.
“Obviously any firepower we can get off the street, we’d rather have sooner or later, but we do have protocols in place and I think the officers did a good job at the time in evaluating the person in crisis and the approach they took,” Sounds like BS to me, and the 'obviously any firepower' comment shows their true intent. These idiots just wanted a bust, any bust, that was no arsenal of guns. Those guns, do not show any intent. This seems like a man was thrown under the bus, so to speak, and his property taken. In fact, we should do a roll count, perhaps a GSUS member is now missing. Midnight rambler, you still here? |

What a bunch of asshats! They removed the scope and set it next to the rifles, put a pocket knife, rifle sheath, and empty knife boxes next to all the stuff... just to make it look like there's MORE to the "arsenal" than there really is. This whole story is such bullshit. |

The 'huge stack of (mostly .22LR) ammo' can be seen in the video. Perhaps a few dozen shotgun rounds (no more than 100 total by my estimate) and perhaps a couple of boxes of ammo for the semi-auto pistol which slowbell has no earthly idea what it is.
Gotta remember, this guy didn't even bother to cut off the shotgun barrel, yet they're claiming his .22 rifle is a SBR?? It's a whole lot easier to hacksaw off a shotgun barrel than it is to cut off a .22 rifle barrel (and I still don't think it's less than 16"). |

It's a Tokarev, in 7.62x25, a poor man's semi-auto pistol. What's so scary to cops about the 7.62x25 is that it will defeat soft body armor. You should have known that. ![]() |

Will stop a .44 mag? Perhaps, but not a 7.62x25 nor the FN 5.7. Small diameter, high velocity gets the job done.
From another forum: Several years ago I used a CZ52 to shoot holes in body armor to the amazement of several firearms instructors. It's always struck me how many supposedly knowledgable people have no idea what the 7.62x25 is. You don't know what you don't know. ETA - What's so scary to cops who are not totally clueless about the 7.62x25 is that it will defeat soft body armor. |

You have just established you don't know diddley-squat about guns, ammo, and ballistics. Typical LEO mentality, thinking that your (very limited) experience in 'law enforcement' makes you some sort of expert. When I did ride-alongs from the early '80s to the early '90s I observed no shortage of this very same sophomoric mentality.
The FN 5.7 (fired from the Five seveN pistol) indisputably WILL penetrate soft body armor to the degree that some of the FN 5.7 ammo has been prohibited for sales to us lowly 'civilians'. |

The FDA should be outraged that these medical devices are in the hands of a homeless individual
A medical device is: "an instrument, apparatus, implement, machine, contrivance, implant, in vitro reagent, or other similar or related article, including a component part, or accessory which is: . . . intended to affect the structure or any function of the body of man or other animals, and which does not achieve any of it's primary intended purposes through chemical action within or on the body of man or other animals and which is not dependent upon being metabolized for the achievement of any of its primary intended purposes." http://www.fda.gov/medicaldevices/de.../ucm051512.htm |
