Beale had an interesting history that I've since learnt about from a Full Bird Army Tank Commander who was in theater during ww2.
Beale originally was a Army training facility for their tank divisions.

Not unlike you, I to had visions of living in semi-seclusion in the remote area of Lone Pine, and playing in and around Whitney. I bought a place there and left it with friends to manage, as their lives came apart so did my property. The location wasn't as remote as say, White Bird Idaho, but as accessible as Buffalo, of which I've played a bit in. But it was close to enough to civilization to make you want to stay a while.

I used to like to ride from Gillette to Sheridan (northern route) and play in the State park up that way. Wild Horses in the rising sun does something for your outlook. There is a town outside of sheridan that claimed to be the best fishin hole in the world, you could stand on a ledge and see the fish, from 300 ft up.

The local cafe' had place mats with all the varieties of fish, and huge catches on the walls. I've got a lot of friends up that way, one in particular has Gas. you would understand Wyoming Gas being a semi local hopeful.
