What are you talking about?

They go up when other members give your posts approval ratings - it's a reputation score. You can't do anything about your own reputation score.

I'm ignoring the whole reputation function.

Well mine hasn't moved off of 5 for some reason but my power is going up. It adds green dots as it goes up so still haven't figured that part out but your actual points are in the user cp.

Green they gave you an approved vote, red they gave you a negative vote and black I'm not sure as you get red dots when you get in the minus on pts so don't know why you're black on votes..

Typical little liberal whine babies are doing it. They can't win the debates just like they can't win elections so they throw their little fits & revert back to their childhood just like their leaders in congress do.
