Check out those dreams because they mean something..
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sigmund Freud: The Interpretation of Dreams (1900) Despite the widely-recognized failure of Freudian psychotherapy to heal disturbed people effectively and the rejection of many of his major theories Freud remains one of the most influential figures of the 20th century. Freud's basic insight that our minds preserve memories and emotions which are not always consciously available to us has transformed the way humanity views itself ever since. Freud said that there had been three great humiliations in human history: Galileo's discovery that we were not the center of the universe, Darwin's discovery that we were not the crown of creation, and his own discovery that we are not in control of our own minds. The tendency of modern people to trace their problems to childhood traumas or other repressed emotions begins with Freud. One of Freud's more important discoveries is that emotions buried in the unconscious surface in disguised form during dreaming, and that the remembered fragments of dreams can help uncover the buried feelings. Whether the mechanism is exactly as Freud describes it, many people have derived insights into themselves from studying their dreams, and most modern people consider dreams emotionally significant, unlike our ancestors who often saw them either as divine portents or as the bizarre side-effects of indigestion. Freud argues that dreams are wish-fulfillments, and will ultimately argue that those wishes are the result of repressed or frustrated sexual desires. The anxiety surrounding these desires turns some dreams into nightmares. ![]() |

Last night I dreamt that I hired a high-class hooker, but before anything happened I fell in love with her and didn't want to pay for the sex, thinking it would cheapen our relationship. That sounds like a joke but I'm serious. And I've never been with a hooker before so I don't know what the hell it means.

"Beads To dream of beads, foretells attention from those in elevated position will be shown you. To count beads, portends immaculate joy and contentment. To string them, you will obtain the favor of the rich. To scatter them, signifies loss of caste among your acquaintances. " http://www.experiencefestival.com/a/...ation/id/35546 tho i wasnt doing any of those things. i was spitting them out of my mouth thinkin they wee my teeth lol MJ |

I used to have a recurrent dream that involved chocolate syrup, live frogs, chopsticks, a dwarf trapeze troupe, and a Weedwhacker™...
The USAF psychiatrist I consulted about this said I should pay it no mind, as I just needed to shoot some more folks... then he asked me if I wanted to see him model the frilly underwear he was wearing while he sang an a cappella version of "Dream a Little Dream of Me" [by Fabian Andrée and Wilbur Schwandt, English lyrics by Gus Kahn]. I said that it didn't sound all that interesting... and then he said, "Show me on this doll where the bad man touched you, Ralph." I said "No." and reminded him that my name wasn't "Ralph." It was then he told me that our time was up, and that perhaps, if I worked real hard, I could become a police detective. At least he was right about that. And the worst part is that 45+ years later, I still dream of that dream..... dreaming of a dream... I have no idea what-the-hell THAT means... ... which inspires the following additional stream-of-UNconsciousness ramblings: Item-- I really hate being picked last for dodgeball at the Our Lady of Regular Bowel Movements Seniors Recreational Center. [I just threw that in in order to retain Wh00lie's attention.... ![]() The following is a Public Service Announcement: Neil Sedaka once had a hit single called, "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do." On the B-side of that single was a lesser-known song called "Growing Up Is Hard-But-Accelerated When You Got Your Best Friend's Mother Pregnant." Both whimsical tunes keep your toes tapping as you hum them incessantly during the day, but they are also noteworthy because the lyrics remind us over and over again of an important fact: Life is hard. Life is indeed hard, but we can try to make it easier. If we helped one another more often, we might have more time to dream about happy things. Things like Angela Lansbury in a Spandex thong bikini, or hamsters in a dryer. For this reason, I have decided to do my part to help others. I thought if I posted some of the hard lessons I have learned over the years, others might not fall into the same pitfalls as I have. The following list, entitled "Things I Learned the Hard Way," is for the reader’s benefit. Please share these with your friends. Let's all work together for a better tomorrow, because the day after tomorrow I'm gonna be kinda busy. "Things I Learned The Hard Way" #1. Most of the paintings, tapestries and statuary in the The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens, 1151 Oxford Road, San Marino, CA 91108 are not Scratch-and-Sniff... Not even Gainsborough's "Blue Boy". #2. Trust professionals to do body piercing. It just doesn't work as well with a #2 pencil or even a ball point pen. #3. Pure honey can enhance lovemaking and heighten one's erotic experience; but use honey from a jar--not from an active hive. #4. [This entry removed at the behest of my local PeTA members... who are at this moment outside the door to my bunker, armed with torches, pitchforks and scythes, and a large battering ram.] #5. Art museum security personnel and the San Marino police (gendarmes for people who speak Scottish) have very little sense of humor (refer to lesson #1). #6. No one from DumbLaws will EVER ask you for your password. Nor will they EVER ask to come to you home and perform a full body-cavity search. Don't fall for this clever ruse. #7. The scalloped potatoes at a family steak house buffet table are usually scorching hot. It's not a smart idea to 'cheat' the restaurant by stuffing your pockets full of them. Choose instead the banana pudding with Nilla Wafers. #8 [This listing has been removed at the request of the FBI, CIA, and Echelon. Like I always said... Fu k ' m if hey 'an't tak a jok ..] #9. Don't learn to water-ski naked, unless of course you actually want an enema. Or if you are female, you need to break the record for the 100 yard douche. #10. Don't watch any episodes of M*A*S*H from the last 6 seasons. #11. You have undoubterdly heard that a cucumber-and-mud mask is a way to open the pores on your face and strip away dead skin. This will help your face feel and look years younger and will give you more self-confidence. However, this doesn't work so well with a Krazy-Glue mask. Especially if you have a beard. ************************************************** ************************* This has been a public service announcement from Sinecure, who is CEO and sole employee of Foolish Enterprises Quite LTD. We now return you to the Neil Sedaka tune that is going to play in your head for the next 10 hours... ![]() |

Now what's up, Sin? Looks to me like you're jealous of that list w1che posted - Galileo, Darwin, Freud - you're obviously trying to make out you're the next big guy! I reckon it's already been done, however. Who gets the fourth place? The Beatles, when they nonchalantly pointed out that We All Live In A Yellow Submarine.
I prefer Jung to Freud. Jung at least said that there are other things we want than simply to get laid, and our dreams reflect this. I can't comment on your dream, MJ, but teeth have symbolic meaning in dreams too. The teen daughter of a friend of mine once had a dream about her father (I know the mother, they have split up) taking out false teeth. It turned out that this was to do with her realising that her father had lied about some serious family issues, and the false teeth represented his lying. I'm not saying that this bears any relation to your dream, of course! My favourite dream symbols are water pigs. I sometimes get them coming up out of deep water and grinning at me. I looked this up in a layman's guide to Jungian dream symbology, and it seems they represent the fulfillment of emotional wishes. So it's like me subconciously patting myself on the back! |
