Found this, thought maybe someone would be interested.
It's from Custom Car magazine April 1970 (cost 2'6)

huh, i've never heard of hillman. i guess it was a subsidary of chrysler europe or something? car doesn't look bad either, but i doubt it did well since that company is either non-existant or extremely obscure today...

It was sold as Part of the Roots group to Chrysler Europe, then on again to PSA (for £1 i think), dont know what happened to the old Hillman plant etc but the old Talbot one produces Peugeots now

From what I understand bits and pieces got sold to Peugeot and the machinery used to fabricate the Hillman Avenger were sent to Iran, where they were still being produced not too long ago. Here's all the info you need: http://www.allpar.com/model/eurocc.html
