Default AUSSIE IN THE WORLD CUP!!!
32 years after, yeay!! Aussie is in the soccer world cup! This is soo awesome!!!
My brother and his wife (both Colombian) and all of their friends (all latinamericans) all supported the Uruguayans, but I got aussie in my blod. I am primarily aussie and secondarily colombian, and after such a long suffering of them supporting uruguay, and me going flat out for aussie, I could finally shout in their face: WE'RE IN THE WORLD CUP AND COLOMBIA ISN'T!!!

YEAH HELL IM HYPERACTIVE!!!!
Go Soccerroos!!!
... I said do you speak my language... he just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich.... and he said Oh! Do you come from the Land down Under....

Congrats dude! I'm glad Australia made it, but i'm not sure about how important is soccer in Aus.
Tonight we will know if Spain goes to the World Cup or not. Probably will, just to loose in quarter finals as we always do.....spanish national team sucks .
EDIT: to not get a warning, i'll say that I AM from Spain, so i guess i had the right to say that.

Congratulations antipodean car dudes.
As a Leeds U fan, I know how good some aussie players can be (though Kewell's gone off since he signed for Liverpool)

So has england made it in yet or did they crap out again? I don't really follow soccer, so this is a legit question on my part.

England (or for purposes of football supporters' chants; Eng-ger-land!) made it through as top of their qualifying group and now await the seeding decisions for the upcoming World Cup. Hopefully, we'll be seeded (and thus avoid a strong team in the first round), but it depends on previous performances at World Cups and FIFA rankings. Seeing as we just beat Argentina (second favourite fot the cup) in a 'friendly', we might be lucky.

My dads praying for Wales to qualify for something, anything, anytime.... not in this world cup but maybe next time.. kinda an ongoing motto, it's not qualified for an international tounament since about 1958 I think.

That Schwarzer guy is an absolute champion!
I haven't been this interested in soccer (I'm more of a rugby man) since South Korea got into the semi-finals 3 years ago!
Ironically, they were coached by the same guy - Gus Hiddink. That guy is a miracle worker.

Stressful. It stressed me very much every time they didn't know what to do in a corner shot. It stressed me when the goal keeper droped the ball right infront of an Uruguayan... But It was heaps fun in the end

How come the different british countries compete separately? I would have guessed that england, scotland, wales, N. Ireland, and the other assorted territories would all compete as the UK.
Also, how come there are so many teams from europe qualified? The little I understand of FIFA is that only so many teams from certain regions are able to qualify right? if so, why is europe's quota so much bigger than everyone elses?

And too bad the way they reacted against the other team players. They should be banned for that.
