Default I'm Getting a Graphics Tablet!
Hey all,
Just trying to control my excitment, my parents have agreed to go halves with me in a Wacom Intuos3.
The best part is, it's gonna be 9'x12', which is huge - and I got a great deal.
What do you guys think of it?

I have a small Wacom (A5), but it's in a box in a friend's garage (I moved house). It's great for free art, but sometimes not as easy to use accurately. Great fun though. Enjoy

9'x12', that IS huge... I take it you mean inches.
I've had a Wacom Oversize A4 (about 30cm x 23cm) for a year and I love it. I hardly bother with the mouse anymore and its great for photoshop. Plus I was getting RSI in my wrist from the mouse and now it doesn't hurt at all.

I was gonna say.........holy crap dude! You could sketch a life-size sub compact on a tablet that big. I need to get a tablet, they are just sort of expensive and my poor laptop needs more ram first.

Excuse the ignorance here, but is this some sort of design computer? what's the deal, does the stylus do double duty as a mouse and as a pen that you can draw with? sounds interesting.

Well Graphics tablets are like unlimited drawing paper that transforms the image on the computer screen - there are some tablets made by Wacom that are actually thim, mobile PCs - but we're talking thousands of dollars here.
Lol, Jake, I mean 9" x 12". Not used to doing inches.
I'm so excited.

I checked on .com.au, there aren't many, but there are plenty of good deals on ebay.co.uk.
I saw a Wacom 6x8 Grapphire for 3 euros, it had no pen (which can be purchased!

I am thinking about one of these...

The latest one went away for 131 bucks, heres the link...

But if can get one of those under 100 I will be happy, if not then one of these from the states would not be bad...

12x9 inches is a really good size so if I where to purchase any tablet it would have to be no smaller than this size. I see tablets for sale that are like 4x5 inches What can you do with a size like that?

9x12 is the top size for the basic range.
Once you get into 12x16 and 18x22, they cost thousands and are made to order.
