15% raise this year but looks like im going to be fired in the next 6 months and replaced by some Booz allen hamilton dipshit who just graduated and doesn't know jack **** and is willing to work for far less. Because that is how it works in Gov... Boozallen are TERRIBLE.
I know a bunch of people from college who were hired by booz. None of them were smart. They either kissed ass or cheated the system. I hate contractors. [rolleyes] Makes me doubly glad that they work for me and not me for them.

Hey not all of us contractors are bad! Post Docs are people too!

Where are you in MD? Seems to be a lot more representation of the Middle Atlantic here than I previously imagined.

There's a good chance I'll be opening up my own Anytime Fitness in a few months, so for now all my money is going toward that. So I guess technically right now I have a negative raise

Anytime Fitness (if it is the same as around here) is a PoS hole-in-the-wall.

Do you just need place to walk around shirtless?

Pay freeze this year (hooray for banks playing politics) although a 46% raise in bonus from 2009 (still down on 2008 though).

I love Anytime Fitness. Everyone here goes to Bally's down the road, so there are probably like 5-6 at any point in time during the day in there. Even at the rush hour times after work, it's no where near as full as you'd expect it to be.

lol...that probably isn't what he wanted to hear.

Small raise, 2% have another coming in August, 4%. Although, that is enough to pay off most of my student loan (hard to be too excited, the student loan payment is the same as my cell phone bill!)

It's a great franchise. The initial cost of ownership is fairly low (for a gym), and the facilities are excellent for their size. The fact that it's 24 hours is a huge bonus as well. We have LA Fitness and a bunch of Lifestyle gyms around here, but I personally enjoy Anytime a lot more, especially since there are so many locations. I have seen some really busy ones as well as ones that are very slow, so I'll have to play my cards right.

I got a 5% raise this year. Not too good, but not too bad either. Due to the job I will be doing for my company for the next 10 months I get a 17% raise though. But after that I'll earn the regular salary again.

Well the owner doesn't seem to be struggling with keeping it running. The branch I go to is not a very large place, its in a strip mall next to a grocery store, so the mass of people is about right for its location and size. It's nice to not have to deal with waiting 20 minutes for a bench or the hassle of things being broken all the time.

Default I got 7% Pay Raise This Year, how about you?
Well, that wasn't expected, but to my surprise my pay raise was a significant 7% this year compared to last year's 1.75%

I wasn't happy, since I though it is going to be max of 3% and that if you get perfect review, as what everyone was saying.
My review came "1" outstanding this year, I guess they wanted to appreciate my efforts[thumbup], since other members of our engineering team didn't get as much significant raise, and some got way less.

I am so happy, it feels good when you get rewarded on working hard

7%? Likely means they've been underpaying you for a while and are afraid of getting caught out.

I've had nothing (not even an inflationary increase) for more than 1.5yrs now. I opened discussions with my boss last September, and he still has not come back to me with anything. Lovely.

2%. It was same across the entire company, (except division managers etc) so all 40,000 employee's got the same. I think out section was the only one to reject the 2% offer, but after 8 months finally accepted. Could be worse I suppose.

Did they get paid the same as you before?

Anyway congrats, extra coin never goes astray (well actually it does all the time, I'm always letting it go).

Some get paid more than me and not doing a good job at all, they were getting paid more because they came from other departments and they have been in the company like 8 years +, I have been in the company only 4 years, I am 28

I guess that explains it, I felt I was getting underpaid, and I actually started looking for other jobs in difference companies, but now I feel satisfied
