That is with Powerboost, so not constant throughput.

Around there. It takes a couple minutes to install a full DVD size game from Steam, those are the largest files I grab, otherwise it finishes before I can click open typically. Basically think of it like being on a gigabit lan but with the internet.

Nice.

Best I can manage when there are others at work. The link is actually 10Gbps and I only have a 1Gbps adapter, and a laptop..

I honestly don't have a clue but I would imagine a lot although fairly reasonable since there is a lot of bandwidth in this area with all the tech companies.

Can't complain much, i get this for $45 a month. Although i do wish i could get a bit higher upload. Could be worse and i could be stuck on dsl instead. I wish cox would get of their butts and get fiber to the home setup like verizon is doing with their fios program.

So I pay comcast $52 a month. Who do I have to kill to get lower rates? I tried the I'm leaving trick with cable...and it worked. I didn't care that much and they wouldn't deal even with the combo.

What you need is competition. It seems to me if you live outside of the bigger metropolitan areas you get raped.

Comcast sucks. I have verizon fios for the last year. Had comcast before that. Comcast sucked so bad the day verizon told me i could order I placed my order. Best thing I ever did! Comcast would slow to a crawl every single evening.

Fios 25/25

sustained full speed unlike comcrap. Oh and since my line is a parallel line I can upload from my FTP just as fast as i download

My parents comcrap. Notice the poor quality of the connection. We tried voip once. What a joke that was. Constant broke up call quality. Oh and your 26 down doesnt count. That is just a short burst and will not sustain that speed.

Can we tell how much I hate comcast? On top of the internet FIOS has MUCH better HD picture quality.

You on a Comcast deal atm? We used to pay $20 for our speed under a deal. For a while they were offering it internet for $10 for 3 months. Right now it is $43. Might be slightly less cause we have the triple play package. Though going to put the triple play package under a new name, so that we can get internet, phone and TV each for $33 for a year.
If my ping was better, I would get 3Mb/s, but the rated speed is 15Mb/3Mb under powerboost. Normal speed is 12Mb/2Mb. Looks like you have the 16Mb/2Mb package right now they have on a deal. Powerboost bumps it up to 20Mb/4Mb

We have a new company in town that offers service. $57 for 15Mb/15Mb.

Only thing that I don't like about Comcast, is their TV service sucks. Everything else works good, and competes well with local competition. TV blips out all the time randomly and it never happens during a commercial. Pisses my wife off to no end, which than makes me mad when she complains, since I don't watch much TV.

Comcast's upload is pretty bad. (it used to be better iirc).

Yea the TV service is too expensive and the cable boxes are utter piles of garbage.

How does power boost work? If you use your 20mbps bandwidth for 10 seconds it drops you down to 12? How much of a time does it need to reset?

If the poweboost reset time is less than 12mbps/20mbps * 10 s, you could make an intelligent download manager that manually throttles your connection and gets you a sustained throughput faster than 12 mbps.
