Two British World Champions in the same (British) team!

I really like Button and he's had a great year ... but I can't help but feel that Hamilton would kind of own him

Hope Brawn manage to get a couple of good drivers next year if Button were to leave (Barichello's basically already gone, is he not?) ... Kimi and Rosberg? hehe

I have a feeling this is to do with Jenson's pay demands to be honest. I think he should stay at least another season at Brawn.

It would be so cool to have two british drivers on the same team and I'd really like to see how these two would perform in the same car.

But Brawn did just give him a world championship winning car so I also feel he should stay another year but it's all about money at the end of the day and if they offer him enough I believe he will goto McLaren

JB took a massive pay drop for the '09 season and Brawn has offered only a small increase for '10. Whilst I believe JB really would like to stay with Brawn, he'd be making a minimum of an additional US$10 million at any other team.

Button is world champion.

He should be paid and treated as a World Champion.
(Doesn't matter if it's right/wrong etc).

I wouldn't blame him going to a Team who will pay him on par with other champions.

Brawn have to be realistic...
... any driver that achieves this accolade will maximise the opportunity to benefit from it. Who wouldn't!?

I'd say they are, they probably figure that extra 10 million will find more speed than Button or any other driver could given their relatively small budget.

would not be a good move for button. mclaren are favoring Hamilton whether they admit to it or not, happened again this year and there looking for another driver again.

the fact that Hamilton is the only black driver in F1 is just far lucrative for them, hes a far bigger draw financially that button is, world champ or not, he's also a very good driver so it win win for them.
if the money was right he'd be better talking Alonso's vacant seat as i cant see brawn repeating this years success(well its Honda's success they did most of the groundwork before brawn bought the team that car was 2 years in development).

Why do you sat favoured? McLaren have an equal driver policy, it's just that one driver was a heck of a lot faster than the other, hence they're looking for a replacement.
Most teams are more interested in the Manufacturers rather than drivers Championships.

ROFL, Button really that desperate to show people that just average driver won the championship? He would just get a major can of whoopass on him.

Kimi is the only driver with no confirmed team for next season out there who could beat Hamilton.

Hamilton isn't that good, he won the championship in what was by far and away the best car.
What did he do this season when the car was crap apart from complain and fall off the track alot, although he did get caught cheating the tried to lie his way out of it.
poor old heikki spent the season waiting for car upgrades Hamilton already had.

Hamilton is good, not the best driver ever as some certain people / media try to make him look like, or new senna or any such, but easily top4 driver atm (other 3 being kimi, alonso, vettel)

Oh btw, according to Norbert Haug from Mercedes, there has never been any negotiations on Button joining McLaren for next season.

He tied Alonso for points, whom many consider the best / one of the best on the grid, in his first year in the same car and also achieved more race wins. Further he was a mere one point behind the champion due to a string of bad calls / rookie mistakes / car cutting out for 30 seconds (seriously, wtf was that?).

Second year he won, probably yes in the best car on the grid, still rookie in his second year and doesn't detract from what he had already achieved / the driving ability it does take to win a championship.

This year he started off with a terrible car and showed some appalling behaviour with his lying in Australia and suggesting that they may as well just retire at another race iirc due to a bad start. But remember that he is still young, and I think that this year has been good for him. He's learnt some valuable lessons and he has helped develop the car into a race winning item. Second half of the season he was probably one of the top scoring drivers - isn't he 5th in the championship at the moment? Not bad for falling off tracks and complaining.

He may not be the best on the grid, but he's damn good, and personally I think he would probably end up running rings around Button at most tracks - don't particually like him though, the whole lying / cheating thing really rubbed me the wrong way [thumbdown]

OK, maybe I phrased it wrongly. What I should have said is that you seem to think no one is as good as Kimi.
