They could be played thru a dvd or blueray and upscaled to 1080p

I meant actual 1080p. I could play absolutely anything on my displays, regardless of source and it would "be 1080p" because that is the native resolution of the displays.

You don't watch any TV shows?

I do, on Blu-Ray or 720p HDTV rips. You just gotta love private torrent sites. Actaully most of my TV Shows are 720p.

Takes a couple of days to dump/decode a bunch of Blu-Rays but it's worth it. Besides i got a dedicated decoding/ripping rig.

Ah ok, well I watch all of my shows legitimately in either 1080i or 720p depending on the network with no extra re-encoding and/or resizing. I was mainly just commenting because it would be a struggle and quite limiting to only watch 1080p content.

Are you actually re-encoding Blu-rays or are you downloading rips of those as well? I could never see myself ripping any of mine and degrading the video and audio quality.
