Default Arrgggghhh which phone?
I'm going round in circles here, I need a new phone and I'm stuck between the N96 and the iPhone 8gb, I've always had Nokias and I know the camera and video is much better on the N96 but I do really like using the iPhone.

I'm not a heavy user but I'd like to be able to surf, watch vids etc

It's going to be a 24month contract so I'd like to get it right, what would you have?

I have an iPhone 3g and I love it, but if I was in the market now I'd go with the above advice. Or at least wait that month and compare the N97 to the iPhone. N96 really was just a nothing stop-gap from the N95 -> N97.

If you are already with o2, get a "reconditioned" iphone 3g, they are free on 18 month contract, and they still have 12 months warranty.

You need to ring cancellations to get this offer.

Can't go wrong with the iPhone. I have to admit, as opposed to Apple's marketing strategies as I am, the iPhone is the most useful gadget I have ever purchased. Much better than my old N95, even though it out-speced the iPhone on paper.

Plus it doubles up as a very competent gaming console, with a huge selection of games and apps. I can't see Nokia beating it any time soon.

Na, I'm with the dreaded 3, cheap as chips though 500mins and 100txt for £15 a month 12 month contract, but I'm getting really fed up with network cover and customer services.

If found an 8gb black 3g iPhone, new for free on a 24 month for £34.26 with 600 mins and 500 txt or the N96 free on a 24 month for £25 with 600 mins and 3000 txt.

Just not sure on the whole look of the N97, I've never liked the full qwerty thing on a phone.

You might be able to get it if you ring up and ask for a reconditioned one.

The woman on the phone told me it is a phone that is sent back within the 7 day cooling off period, it is then sent back to apple who reformat it and change the casing, and include all new accessories. And a 12 month warranty, so not much difference from a new one.

So what's the difference, an 18 month rather than a 24 month contract for the same price?

If you can, I would wait until the 8th of June as Apple will most likely be releasing a new one then. Then you can ether get a current one for less or a new one with all the extra features.

iPhone. No contest. Admittedly it does a few things wrong, but it does so much more right than the nearest competitor.

Plus, you know that Apple can fix most things with a new OS. When was the last time you saw Nokia produce a global OS upgrade in response to consumer criticism?

I have always been a long term Nokia fan but last week I took the plunge and got an iPhone on the same tariff as you are looking at.

One of the best decisions I have made, I love my iPhone to bits.

or.... it could be a ****ed one that gets sent to apple for repair because its ****ed and then shipped to you so they can dupe you and palm you off with a recon unit to keep you with them [rofl]
