My dad got an iPod Shuffle as a gift with some purchase of his. This is the first time I'm using iTunes for something other than buying songs I couldn't get anywhere else.
Now, I'm at my computer, where iTunes is installed. My dad's computer is elsewhere, and I want to place MP3 files from his computer on the iPod Shuffle. Normally, with any random MP3 player, I'd copy the files from Network Location A to USB Stick drive B. I do that with the Shuffle, no music plays. I start iTunes... and... I'm lost. Now what? Am I really supposed to add the four music maps on the network drive one by one to iTunes playlists, and then copy that playlist to the iPod Shuffle? Really!? [ban] Any help welcome, so long as it's quick and easy. ![]() |

Did he get the new shuffle? Things are tiny.
![]() Anyway, the basic manner in which iTunes works is that you have your library on your computer with iTunes referencing the folder you specify that contains your music. You can change that folder but going into the preferences and then under the advanced tab. If I were you, I would just drag the music files into iTunes then have them stored locally on your computer for syncing. Then as far as playlists are concerned, I have one for my phone and I just drag and drop whatever songs I want into the playlist. You don't need to make a playlist if the library does not exceed the capacity of the player like my iPod Classic. |

Anyway I decided I'm glad I've got the old one. I watched the video and they don't say anything about being able to skip forward or back through a track which is playing which I do a lot on mine, and the controls on mine are simpler. |

Because iPods with a screen are about twice as expensive? Sorry, didn't mean to offend! I just meant that if you were looking into getting an iPod shuffle, the lack of screen was not really an issue for you so it fits great. I think VoiceOver sounds like a neat idea personally, but the shuffle to me seemed to be aimed at people to just load it and play it. |

![]() Personally I wouldn't have chosen an iPod Shuffle simply for the fact it hasn't got a screen and more fully featured mp3 players can be had for the same price, but like I said it was a present. |
