Default This Is Why I Buy Apple Products
Say what you will about Apple and its stores, but I've had nothing but excellent service from them. I took my 3G iPhone for service because my screen had a bunch of stuck pixels that I couldn't fix myself. Upon entering the store, I had a technician look at the screen and he went into the back and instantly replaced the LCD free of charge. I use my phone for my business, so I couldn't be without a phone for a long period of time. Needless to say I'm quite pleased. [yes]

Yea apple definatly has some of the fastest service that i know of. I've had a 20gb Photo, a 30gb video and 2 16gb touches all of which have unfortunatly had issues... BUT it only took about 3-4 business days to get all of them fixed. One day to write them and tell them the issue, get a shipping box the next day from them, ship it out they receive it the next day, and i get it the day after that... very very very fast[thumbup]

Wait wait wait, you're impressed by a company that you have bought 4 faulty products from because their service is really good?

I am also impressed when I hear stories like this as Apple stores are generally known for their good customer service. And then I hear about a friend that went to an Apple store and they charged him $360 for 2GB (2x1gb) of DDR2-600 ram for a 5 year old G5, and just the sticks, no installation... that's when I get angry.

That is a lot of money, don't get me wrong, but I am talking more so about their service rather than their prices. We all know Apple products are expensive, but if you have an Apple store in the area, they really do treat you well.

Yes, I still agree with that. I like how they host free workshops in some of the larger stores too.

lol - my thoughts exactly.

Is it possible their Customer Service is good because it needs to be due to the fact they are supplying products which do not work?

haha very true, im not really impressed with the quality of the products, but since every time they were replaced or repaired as fast as they were then yes, they will continue to get my business because i know if whatever i do buy f***s up ill have it back before i even notice its gone.

Customer service shouldn't and doesn't have such a premium though...

True, but when I buy an Apple product I feel as if I'm getting a lot more than great customer service. Form factor is important, and the iPhone has literally changed the way I look at a smart phone. Also, OSX destroys Vista

And you look cooler when you go to Starbucks. That has to count for something too.

So what are all these non-conformist types going to do when Apple starts becoming even more mainstream (I know they are already mainstream, but I am talking social consensus here)?

I know, they might all move to Linux!

And PC users are like "WTF mates?"

That said, I'd hit the talent at the apple stores before I would at the PC shops. That's one thing I like about Apple stores at least.

Sadly my experience with Apple has been VERY very poor...
My iPhone 3g would die within 12-16hours of little to no use with good signal the entire time, wifi off, bluetooth off, and 3g off.
the battery would also get VERY hot.... it would drain very quickly and the phone would lock of 3-4times a week and most apps especially safari would crash at least once a day.
I took it to the apple store 3 times and I explained it must be a hardware flaw in the device (battery) for such poor performance. They told me to wait for the next firmware update each time and ran some "diagnostic" programs on my phone. So now I have it sitting on my desk dead. Instead I use an HTC Kaiser with winmo 6.1 and an extended battery (3800mAh) that lasts for 2 days no charge with wifi/blutooth/3g/constantly downloading my work emails and netsurfing. I have far more useful programs and more functionality. I have better battery life thanks to the ABILITY to upgrade the battery and IMO more accurate/precise touch screen. I do miss the screen but thats about it.

Also I think the title "Apple Guru" is the gayest **** ever... And I thought Computer Specialist and Sanitation Engineer were bad

You are confused. The iPhone is not a smartphone.. It's an iPod with the ability to make phone calls. nothing smart about a phone that restricts you so much. Play with a WinMo Phone or an Android Phone... now thats a smart phone OS.

To me the iPhone is a step backwards when it comes to the OS... but to the physical design it is a step forward.
As an entertainment device with call feature the iPhone is superb... It stops there...
You want to get work done? It all ends there. At the NSF everyone is getting iPhones paid by the Gov... Seriously? iPod for everyone? Lets get more work done everyone! iPhones for all... in the mean time I see people with the new NSF supplied iPhones downloading music from itunes half of the day.
Don't get me started on the BlackBerry Storm... What a let down... I got one from work and gave it back before using it for a week.. for the first day when I tried to activate my BES account on the blackberry.. it kept restarting NON STOP no matter what I did so I got it replaced and things kept getting worse and worse.

First of all the term is "Apple Genius."

Secondly, I've owned over 5 WinMo HTC phones, and I honestly have never been more frustrated with an interface in my entire life. There's nothing worse than having a PDA that also can make phone calls, or using a Stylus for any reason whatsoever (the HTC Touch was awful). Constant phone freezes are abound when too many software programs are running, and the idea of having to do registry "edits" for performance updates is incredibly retarded. You mine as well just carry your laptop around and speak into the Microphone to make a call.

Android, while better than WinMo, still lacks the elegance of the iPhone. Everything about its screams "me too!," and lacks originality. Plus, the HTC hardware is incredibly thick and cumbersome.

Just because it does media very well doesn't mean it is nothing more than that. Look at the 15,000+ applications that expand its functionality in many different directions. Exchange support, great calendar app, wide e-mail support, those are the main components of a smartphone. What exactly did you feel was missing?

You undoubtedly had a bad experience with yours, then it seems completely wrote it off and we know you are very vocal about it. Did you ever run the firmware updates? Did you ever call them up and ask to speak to a supervisor? I have honestly never heard of someone having an issue with an Apple device that was still under warranty and them not fixing it or replacing it right there on the spot, let alone to be turned away three times. I am not saying you are making it up by any means, that is definitely wrong of them to have told you to just "wait" I am just curious to see if you tried a couple other options via phone, manager, supervisor, etc.
