I didn't see you post about it either.

To be honest I hate this attitude some people have that if you care about cruelty to animals you don't care about cruelty to humans, as if the two were somehow mutually exclusive.

QFT.

This thread is about that specific news story. Post at thread about some other terrible event and people will come in with opinions on that. [rolleyes]

Oh for the love of all that is good and right, I've just been called out for being a self righteous d-bag by Bungle of all people. Surely the apocalypse is at hand. [surrender]

All kidding aside though, I merely mentioned that it was funny that this type of behavior crops up in different situations. I was also replying to people who made it seem like they thought a kitten's death was more tragic than a human's just because the kitten is defenseless.

If I'd seen him cook the cat I'd have fcuking ripped his balls of in front of him and shoved them up his backside the sick SOB... however this makes me no better than him, however, what's good for the goose... his life wouldn't' be worth living the sicko[cursing].

That would be me then.

Really though, I suppose what I really feel is ..... well ........ "sh!t happens".
And If this microwaving a kitten ordeal had taken place in some regions of China then it wouldn't have been met with such outrage.

Millions, and it really is Millions, Of dogs and cats and kittens are butchered for food every year in Parts of China, they are kept in Horrific conditions and their deaths are also Horrific, the Chinese who Butcher them believing that if the animal dies in agony its adrenaline makes the meat taste somehow better.

If anyone search through google you will find umpteen photos and videos of what goes on in some of these chinese markets, and the evidence is heart breaking.

So one kitten dying as the result of being microwaved provokes such anger yet millions butchered every year in China and people just seem to put it to the back of their mind that its happening, or maybe are oblivious to what's going on.

Millions of humans dying every year is just another statistic though.

Baker, of Forfar, Angus, got a 120-hour community order, a seven-year pet ban and must pay £150.

British Justice! [rofl]

Why don't you go sign up with Peta already. Think of the poor kittens!!!

Anywho, if it was so easy for people to defend themselves there would be no victims. Still a victim is a victim. If you're saying that a kitten's death is more tragic than a person's death just because the kitten can't fight back then I think you need to have a little talk with a therapist about being a sociopath.
There is always an animal hater in these threads. The guy in the story is torturing an animal, yes people are pissed. This is not about humans or which is better or worse. They are both equally bad. You should get yourself checked.

People need to learn that compassion is compassion. If you cannot feel an ounce of compassion about a defenseless animal, then there is something different with how you deal with compassion across all living creatures. So there is no sense sounding all high and mighty stating things like "Oh so it's okay if this happens to humans?" becuase we know that you don't really care at all either way anyway.

People who are outraged by a person's compassionate reaction towards an animal in cases like this should realise that just becuase they care about what happens to the animal, it does not mean they don't care about what happens to human beings. Compassion is not a mutually exclusive emotion.

Humans are involved in all sorts of injustices every day, and so are animals. But the fact of the matter is: we are the most dominant species on the planet, and you don't see any other animals doing the same thing to us for fun or sport. Being the most dominant species on the planet we have a responsibility, and anybody who thinks otherwise is probably a little bit backwards on the evolutionary ladder.
