Default Worried about problem
Okay, its kinda stupid but I need some opinions:

The ex of my girlfriend, who's a total nutcase (cant let go, threatens and stalks her n stuff) cracked her e-mail account and read all her mails. She sent me a few to my work e-mail adress, so he's got that now.

Could he do some damage with that knowledge? I mean like send e-mails in my name to harm my reputation or something? Or could he crack the e-mail account here at work and read my e-mails here too?

I dont know much about e-mail security, so I dont know much about the dangers.

Any help is appreciated.

Alert the police. That is rarely a good course of action, but in this case it probably would be.

We already have, yet they said since there is no evidence (the call where he told her about what he knows wasnt taped or anything) they cant/wont do anything.

Since I expected that I wasnt even disappointed. [rolleyes]

I wish i could say I'm surprised at their reaction.

I think this is something that they should take a bit more seriously.

What sort of e-mail service does your work have? is it exchange. Is the server situated locally, or externally? ...

Maybe ya pay him a visit at night and beat the piss outta him? Nothing says " stay the F&CK away" like a free three week vacation in a hospital bed[thumbup].

If all he has is your work email address can you not explain the situation to your IT manager at work and ask to have a new account set up? That would be one problem solved at least.

I havent done that yet, since its kinda embaressing (in my point of view) so I see that option as my last resort.

As far as beating him up goes, when he sees me he runs away as fast as he can. Not that I'm looking huge or anything, I just think he is one of those freaks that like to frighten women, but cant take it up with a man.

[thumbup] if so, That's great place to meet those who would be very good at doing JUST that very thing i suggested , so you could network and build a circle of friends while there.
When given lemons make lemonade![thumbup]

Well I'm neither an Indian on the warpath nor do I feel like sneaking up on people. I mean, he's the freak.

She broke up with him about 6 months ago, so I doubt he's losing any steam soon. The classical stalking madman. Yay. [thumbdown]

Ignoring the problem famously makes it go away though.
