Should have spent that £130K on either a Porsche 911 or a face lift, gym membership and he'd still get something better looking than that "model" off facebook.

The guy definitly wasn't thinking at all, and if any part of his body was doing his thinking, it was likely his heart and not his penis.

He looks desperately sad and lonely, in the typical sort of job that getting any sort of decent social life going is a complete no go.
Postmen work early mornings, so he's probably in bed by 10pm most week nights.

Only way around these scams is either never get involved or at least get a bloody webcam, so any person on the other end doing the scamming would have to have at least a willing female accomplice to help scam someone on a regular basis, which makes getting caught and keeping track of all the little lies that much harder to do.
Photo's lie, video's lie, Live streaming camera is a lot more difficult to fake, especially for hours on end.

I do feel sorry for the guy, but only because I have an an ounce of compassion left in my soul despite the years on the internet that have jaded the rest of me, now that I know how shitty people can really be.

QFT. The internet does make cynics of us all... but its hard not to feel bad for the folks who still trust the world unconditionally.

How on gods green earth does a postman save £130K? That's about 8 years of his full salary and I've even been optimistic regarding taxation.

i didnt read all the replies. BUT I will however point out, there are more people around that HAVE NOT heard of these scams, than have heard of them.

There are more people around that DO NOT EVEN OWN A computer yet. but will own one soon. and that means a whole new crop of potential victims.

people who have NEVER EVER experienced online life before can become engulfed in it. A whole new exciting experience where they can meet people from around ther world and make friends who they can care about and who will care about them!!!!
My roommate was almost dooped, and hes usually one smart cookie. Luckily i heard him talking about a girl he met from russia, that wanted to visit the USA and HIM, but needed money for a plane ticket.
They think because they are being treated nicely that the person must be genuine,AND a pretty face makes it all more beleivable it seems. It's called human nature. That doesnt make them stupid. That makes them easy prey

IT's sad we would want to belittle someone for being scammed. The scammers are the true a$$holes here. .

Surely common sense would tell you you don't go doling out money to someone you hardly even know, whether it's on the internet or in real life.

Edit: Especially not that amount!

While I do respect your noble message here and DO have alot of compassion in real life, none of what you says makes this guy any less STUPID. Its not a matter of some innocent "normal' person getting robbed from. He GAVE his money away to someone he didnt even know at all. It would be like him meeting someone in real life at a bar and her wanting $180k....and that would be MORE believable....

Nope, sorry, no pass here, he is still a effin moron and should be removed from society.

Loneliness can make a person do stupid things!
And that guy certainly looks both lonely and desperate for a bit of Love.
Some places just do not help you get or even meet the right people who might become future partners.
OK, so the guy looks a bit of a "mummy's boy", and looks like he still lives with his parents, but that's not a crime and many single men would rather live at home and at least have some human company than live alone and be truly by themselves.

Most of you guys coming in with your snidey little comments, must truly lack compassion or feeling or even have any ounce of knowing what it is like to even be alone in some dingy flat in some equally dingy town in the middle of bloody nowhere, without female company, knowing you may be alone for the rest of your life.

40 year old virgin, doesn't even cover it.
Most of these guys are truly desperate and would bleed themselves dry for the love of a good women.

I'd be very surprised if this guy didn't kill himself though, the embarrassment and the financial ruin would be hard to live with.

Take that America! This is our retaliation to the American girl that got scammed multiple times, and continued to do so even after the authorities told her it was a scam!

When we're on this subject anyway, I would like to requests funds from all of the gullible people on this forum. I will henceforth spread my story which has taken my whole family by surprise.

Four years ago, I brought back a monkey from the forest near where I live. Around 3 years ago the nigerian government took my monkey in custody to be the first nigerian monkey in space.

3 months ago, they actually launched a modified Ford Transit for space trafels, and within it, my sweet space monkey!
Apparently, because of the rise in the oil prices, the awesome nigerian build space shuttle, can not return back home

He's so far away from home, all alone with the space snake and the rest of my nigerian brothers that ended up in space, awaiting funds from idiotic capitalists that send money to my other nigerian brothers posing as sexy myspace models.

Hereby my request to send me money to unite me with my lonely space monkey!!
