There once was an old (slightly schlocky) Irwin Allen Tv series called the Time Tunnel.

What I never knew, and just found out, was that a remake of the show was planned and even filmed, but was never aired or picked up by a studio.

Here is the entire first episode, and its a shockingly good re-imagining (better than I expected, at least)

Better than 99% of the crap the Sci-Fi channel airs. This could have been such a cool show!

Not bad at all - much better than most pilots which try cramming too much in at once, jet it covered what it needed to.
Plus, the women are acceptably attractive - which goes a long way ... [thumbup]

I have never actually seen a whole episode.

But I have seen snippets here and there, and thought it was an interesting concept hampered by juvenile 60's 70's era Sci-Fi schlockeyness and special effects.

This little movie is interesting because it's an almost Battlestar Galactica style Re-imagining of an old series done to modern standards. They even changed one of the main characters to a female, something that the BSG reimagining repeated years later.

I think it would have been a good show to compete with Stargate. Too bad the studios passed on it!
