Yes, I just cancelled my cable service and so effectively no longer have 'TV'. I don't have an ariel, so don't receive any free-to-air analogue service.
It was a New Years Resolution to an extent. Paying over $100 a month, just so I can have the channels I really want (I only really watched Comedy Central, BBC America, HBO and Showtime...). Occasionally the Sci-Fi channel, and Fox for the Simpsons, but with Netflix online supplying almost all the series I'd ever want, iTunes filling the gaps (I'd sooner cough up $50 for Battlestar Galactica in HD without ads and watch it in my own time, than have to DVR it, which kills the quality anyway), and a combination of Cinema, Xbox Marketplace, Netflix and iTunes supplying all of my film needs, I am going to save $100 a month, and put that towards Apple TV and renting from Market place and itunes. I am sure I'll miss casual 'telly', but Time Warner are a mess anyway and I want to start watching things, because I really want to watch them. [xmascandle] |
