Default Initial Shitty Link
sometimes they annoy me.

i made an order with ebuyer on wednesday night to be delivered on friday.

on thursday they then told me they would be deliverying on monday. i thought fair enough because it had snowed.

on monday i finished a 12 hour shift at 8am, they tried to deliver at about 11am when i was asleep but i never heard the doorbell and i always have, but did receive a card saying they'd been...

i aranged for delivery on tuesday (today). i've been in all day and the delivery status has been "goods loaded onto a van" pretty much all day, but no show and not carded either.

DateTimeStatus2008-12-04 18:34 On route to delivery branch 2008-12-06 02:56 Arrived at Delivery Branch 2008-12-08 07:16 Goods loaded onto a van 2008-12-08 10:43 Delivery point closed (Carded) 2008-12-08 19:19 Goods returned to branch 2008-12-09 08:03 Goods loaded onto a van

do they make the 'status' up or is it genuine?

Have you ever had City Link deliver to you before? They might have the wrong address, but otherwise yea CL have been known for ninja carding (leaving the card after a soft door knock) or saying they did but actually didn't...

At worst for me (over 40+ deliveries I think) they've just knocked once on the window and carded while I was in, but otherwise if they use the door knocker I will hear them easily.

I have a camera setup at my front door that detects motion and then alerts me. I then have a wireless controller that when pressed releases a net and captures the city link person.

I then negotiate with them to receive my packages.

i have this happen as well by local carriers, especially canada post. they dont knock just leave a card. why? because they dont want to bother with the parcel when they can just leave a card and have you go to them. idiots. also have had them leave a card, but heard them outside the door. no knock, just loud walkers. then had to chase the van down the street.........

Just be ready for when they do actually show up while you're in. If you take any longer than 4 seconds to open the door after thethey knock they jump back in their van and drive off.

Better than the Royal Mail in my area... they left my Guitar Hero 4 order with a random neighbour and DIDN'T LEAVE ME A NOTE!

I was lucky the neighbour was honest and knocked on my door that night cos otherwise I'd have no idea where the parcel was.

Last week I was a away on a short break from Monday to Friday and Amazon had left my Sony Alpha 200 on the doorstep on wednesday.

Anybody could have stolen it and it had rained heavily so all the packaging was ruined, but luckily the camera worked.

Royal Mail are pretty bad at the moment, they keep (4+ over two months) delivering my mail to next door ( 10m away ) and saying sorry I made a mistake, durr the number is clearly on both our doors, its not rocket science.

I have never once had a good experience with city link, i've been ninja carded multiple times, when they eventually do deliver it's right at the very end of the day after waiting in all day for them, and 95% of the time i have to go on a mission and pick up the package myself from the local dep which is miles away. I always try and have royal mail deliver stuff now as they most of the time deliver in the early hours and are pretty decent, not always but for the most part.

SHITTY LINK YOU ARE SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT!

i must be one of the lucky few who have never had a problem with them.

maybe being out in the coutryside helps - less time restraints/stress on the drivers??

We get daily deliveries from them and find about 33% of parcels are damaged or missing. We regularly have to bollock the drivers for throwing things around the van. Waste of space and we do refer to them as Shitty Link too.

I have had the same problem with them, saying they have carded my address, but they haven't. 1 angry phone call to the depo sorted it out and they sent another driver out with my parcel.

If any companies I order from now use them, I just get them to deliver to my work address instead.
