Taking video games and anime cartoons and trying to make a movie out of them can sometimes work and not work, for example IMO I personally deemed these movies acceptable

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1-3
Transformers
Speed Racer
Resident Evil 1-3
Mortal Kombat (the first one)
Tomb Raider (to a lesser extent)

However these below are atrocities that just didn't work

Super Mario Brothers
Hitman
Dead or Alive
Street Fighter (with Van Dam)
Mortal Kombat Annihilation
Fist of the North Star (the live action flick)

And now ladies and gentlemen we have Dragonball

Hitman, absolutely f*cking rocked!

And at its release I thought "super mario brothers" was great too, it was 1993 though, And the Pentium cpu came out the same year, so that says a lot for how long ago it was.

Transformers, is also one of my favourite films as well, although I never played with the toys or watched the cartoons.

As for...........

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1-3 --- ok -- ish!, The only good one was the first and seeing Toshishiro Obata acting. [rofl]

Tomb Raider (to a lesser extent) -- More utter rubbish!, The only redeeming feature is Angelina Jolie has big boobs!

You forgot "max payne" -- more tripe! [thumbdown]

Street Fighter was hilariously bad, I laughed at it so it was "good". Also, Mortal Kombat was pretty good with the music..

RE was alright even if it didn't actually followed the whole storyline of the game. However RE : Degeneration does and I quite like it apart from the sloppy animations.

And yeah, DOA Live Action was an utter failure. With a sucky director at the helm.

It sucked. Not in the way the usual game-to-movie movies sucked, but it sucked as a movie in general.

I did like Wahlberg as an actor in movies like Three Kings, or Departed or the Shooter, but this one just had to fail, so he couldnt save it.

Hitman would've been a 6 maybe if it wasn't about hitman/codename 47.
The whole thing about codename 47 is that he hardly has any emotion...the whole thing in the car was an absolute joke[thumbdown][thumbdown]
