Default Silverstone F1 thread
Great speed shown by Webber all weekend, Ferrari and BMW are strangley off the pace and Hamilton continues to overdrive the car, is he feeling the pressure because Heikki is starting to really outpace him now?

It looks like a wet race tomorrow as well!

Yup, well impressed by Webber and not so much with Hamilton - he seems to be losing the plot lately.
I suspect Massa was a bit sore from his earlier crash - be interesting how the race pans out.

Awesome grand prix... Incredibly important win for Hamilton, not just because its his home GP but for the next races and to make all his doubters simply stfu.

I'm just as happy for Reubens as I am for Hamilton, the happy chappy of F1 [thumbup]

F1 + unpredictable weather = the best races you'll see

Oh, he did make a small one. Went off in one corner, but no spinning. Unlike the completely useless Ferrari drivers today. Lost count how many times Massa was pointing the wrong way. [rofl]

Unlikely today. Raikonnen binned it a couple of times. He was lucky to finish where he did.

3 way tie at the top now Massa was useless in the wet.

The race was won in the best way. With the best driver demoliting the rest of the field.

Although I'm a Webber fan and was dissapointed his race was ruined from aquaplaning, I felt that this race didn't need rain. If anything it robbed us of a good race, instead we got cars falling off simply from bad tyre choices.

It would have been far better if Kimi's race wasn't ruined by bad tyre choice, he was faster than Hamilton on the same tyre as was Alonso and Webber (after the first lap spin).

The fact that a HONDA got 3rd despite having to pit an extra time is an indication this race was all about tyre choices.

Eventful yes, but it was more of a sideshow than an F1 race. I learn't nothing regarding developement of the teams during last weeks testing, unless Honda leapfrogged Ferrari in speed

Interesting that those who said last weeks race was boring because the leader won by a mile, now say this weeks was great [rolleyes]

You know he could simply have had an impossible setup to drive, with an engine map that was far too touchy. You could see he couldn't even lean on the accelrator coming out of some corners without the rears snapping away.

For all we know he could of had the drive of the day given he never hit anything, Hamilton in the same car could have binned it into the nearest wall, or not.

That's why today's race I feel was ruined by the rain, F1 cars aren't designed to race in such conditions and as such each behave's very differently. Hamilton was alot slower than Kimi on the same tyres, so does tha mean Hamilton is a dud driver? Obviously no, so to say Hamilton was the superior driver today is also incorrect, if there was gravel and not grass he ran off into his day would have been just like a few other DNF drivers today.

Driver of the race? Who know's

Kimi was not faster than Hamilton, he caught him a little then spun off. After that Hamilton was over 6secs a lap faster than the rest of the field on the same tyres and was tip toeing round as he didnt want to bin a career goal needlessly.

I wish they would have put some full wets on for the latter half of the race, Rubens was lightening fast compared to them and noone changed.

Brundell kept mentioning it and noone came back in to change.
