Default Holy Giant Snails batman!
Found this picture on a Camaro forum.

I just sat and stared at those two gigantic turbo's. If he don't run at least mid 6'sI'd be shocked.

More pictures here

Nick just sent me this email...

"Well, after 80 hours of work, we finally got it on the dyno and running.....only pulled it a little (between 4000-7500) just to warm it up to we could lash the valves and check everything

The Fast Times built, Sonny headed, 548 cubic inches, with twin 88's with ONLY 2 pounds of boost( waste gates wide open), it made 1009 horsepower at 7500 and it still hadn't gotten to peak torque, so it looks like the motor will go to 9000-9500 or so and with some boost it should make a little more...lol

the goal is a reliable 2800 horsepower at only 25lbs of boost.

I'm gonna have my hands full this year....LOL

Nick"

reliable 2800hp? whats that supposed to mean..the extra weight from the engine to get to 2800hp will only make it drive worse
Not to mention you'd need like some sort of tractor f1 tires

Isnt this the same car? It looks extremely similar accept in the OP pic it looks to have some more modifications done. Same body.

i think he plans on only driving straight for about 6-7 seconds. I doubt he will be taking too many corners.

*shakes head* some people just dont get it. Take a look at the car before you start making comments. Massive ass tyres on the back, little ones on the front... hmm... must be a drag car. Not that the 2800HP part gave that away at all.

no, and what's that got to do with it?
My point is that i dont see it going any faster than a 2000hp car because of weight/traction/aerodynamics w/e.

got a lot to do with it,

o/cing a pc is pretty much same mindset as tuning a car for drag

100 more mhz may get you 50 more points
500 more HP may get you .5 seconds

until your cpu/gpu gets so hot that it's throttling or you're bottlenecked by either one

By the sounds of it, they are experimenting as of the moment and thats perfectly fine. Without experiments we'd still be in the stone age. So nothings overkill when you experiment, the whole idea is to reach the absolute limit[thumbup].

Those are the biggest @ss turboes I've seen. Nice work

No, there would be a significant decrease in ET and increase in trap speed from 2000hp to 2800hp. Its a drag car, never enough power.

Top Fuel dragsters are the fastest accelerating vehicles on the planet, they have 6000hp or more, and accelerate to 60mph in about .7 seconds, running a 1/4 mile from a standstill in an average of 4.4 seconds over 330mph. If you stood at the finish line at the end the 1/4 mile and had to run across both drag lanes when the light went green you'd be dead because the top fuel dragster would reach the finish line before you could run across the lanes. They are that fast.
