Default Just ordered an EEE PC!!
Well after many months of looking at UMPC's and ultra portable laptops the EEE PC has come out and by the looks of it does everything i need, which is basically a machine for on the go that i can code on, write documents and browse the web!

Any of you other tech savvy folks got one? really interested to hear some opinions on it!

Will post pics when it arrives tomorrow morn

congrats, so tempted to get one as well but just can't justify one as I need vmware and alot of security tools for school.

only complain I heard about is the resolution 800x480, decent for checking email, browsing and watching videos though.
did you load a mini WinXP version by any chance? hows the battery and audio performance?

I'll try my best at doing a review, any particular things people want to see on it or me to do?

my father just purchased one for working offshore on a ship.

He claims laptops are useless out there and mobile phones are too fussy, this was a godsend in his opinion

I wonder if it is available in the US. Haven't heard of it till now but its way to cool not to have one lol.

Well I have found them in a few online retailers, but they are $400 not 199 like I heard in a review, still very tempting though...

I shall be getting one of these too - just as soon as they release the 8GB storage version.
I just need something that will run Debian and this should do that just fine.

Yes - a USB CD-ROM/DVD should work fine.
