PC parts can be drastically cheaper at same places.

For example, if you want an extra gig of ram from Dell it'll cost you about twice the price *or more* than buying 1-2 gigs from elsewhere.

Those are identical products, same part number and everything.

They probably just didn't update their prices properly.

The board and memory I just bought was cheaper on OcUK than on Komplett.

its not exactly double, but anyway...

they usually put the item on offer ("this week only") as a means of lowering the price. makes you think your getting a good deal.

When in fact, the price is really more than it was 2 weeks before [thumbdown]

A quick check at my buy price on Crucial memory and I can buy the same kit for £56.34inc
So anybody paying more than that is being ripped off...

Prices always vary for PC equipment.
I have about 5 stores (including Komplett and OcUK) which I always check before making any purchase and then simply go for the cheapest.
I don't shop around until I necessarily for the very cheapest because there are only around 5-6 stores out there that I actually know I can trust.

It's probably old stock OCUK are trying to shift. Memory has nose-dived lately.
