Default Removing superglue from aluminium?
I had a bit of an accident with a tube of superglue and it splattered all over the front of my Antec P180 [rolleyes]

Any tips on removing it, been on there a few months just not got round to removing

Tried butanol? That seems to get a lot of stuff off, but I dunno about super glue...

Debonder.

It's the stuff that you use if you get superglue on skin.

Maybe lacquer thinner, but you might want to check on a small corner to make sure that it doesn't mess up the aluminum. But if the alu has a clear coat of some sorts it should be just fine.

Use it all the time to get glue, tar, road paint, etc off cars at work.

I should clarify, I use Zippo lighter fluid, which I'm sure isn't pure butanol (might even be butane, I haven't looked in a while).

As mentioned before, this might leave a dull spot on the aluminum, so be careful.

I'm building a model boat and I get super glue on my hands all the time and I know nail polish remover works when you have super glue on your hand. Should work on metal too.

Acetone will remove it nicely, and is very cheaply obtainable in the form of nail polish remove, use a cotton ball soaked in it, hold it in place for a while, it's not the fastest process but I have yet to have it damage anything and that includes PCB's.

Methylated Spirits would be a bit more forgiving.

Cleaning with acetone is a bit like lighting a birthday candle with a napalm strike.

That just sounds cool! [thumbup] After your explanation, I don't know anyone who wouldn't use acetone now [rofl]
