So, I've stared playing a bunch of TF2 lately, so much that it makes me want a microphone.
What do you guys use? I'm looking for suggestions, preferably something that I can still use my speakers with and not have to get a crappy set of headphones, rather use my excellent home theater system... lol So, what do you use? |

standalone mics are generally not recommended for video games because they pick up a lot of ambient noise from the games. You could just buy a crappy headset, only use the mic, and just let the headphones clip around your neck or something, but then you'd still run a bit of a risk of picking up in-game noises.

Well, I've actually been thinking of using a regular microphone with a push to talk switch. That way it might pickup some of the noise from my speakers but it shouldn't be too much. I'd make it a foot activated switch rather than the in game push to talk button.
Just a thought. Although I might just try and get a good desktop mic and use it with my Shure E2C's or my Sennheisser HD-280's, although I prefer not to wear stuff on my head when I can avoid it. |
