Recently, I bought an issue of National Geographic dated February 1944[yes] from a 2nd hand bookshop in Malaysia. Despite being 63 years old, the magazine was still in fairly good condition . It was a window to the past and contained several colour photographs, which were rare in the 1940s.

But it also contained some racial slurs, especially against the Japanese. And advertisements encouraging the American public to buy war bonds.
