That's NOTHING compared to my morning shower!!! [cursing]
So I'm finishing up my shower at about 6:10am this morning. It's about 6:40am right now. I open the shower door outward and step out. In mid-stride, I decide to close the shower door with my right hand while still advancing forward toward the sink. What I didn't know until 6:11am this morning is that the 2-millimeter wide metal edge on the bottom of the door is made from the same metal they use to make katana swords. Now try to picture that the bottom of the door (the deathly sharp edge) swings out about 10 centimeters above the floor. In perfect disharmony, my 15-millimeter wide achilles tendon hooked the edge of the door at that glorious spot on the back of my ankle where there's nothing but achilles to grab, and did proceed to shred my tendon downward as I continued to step forward. It was a perfect no-look, reverse, upward, flying heel-kick onto a 2-millimeter wide surface. I'd never be able to repeat this maneuver at the Olympics. I see now why Achilles the Greek died because the achilles tendon bleeds enough that I've almost confused myself with a shark attack victim being dragged out of the water. I've stopped the bleeding finally. It's not a full split of the skin, but it's damn close and still hurts. I'm walking a little funny, in fact. Sort of hobbling on the balls of my foot because it still hurts to press down on my heel. I think I just gave myself a good excuse to ditch work today. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI61Wnb5zhM&NR=1 Back to the original topic, reminds me of the time I was a kid and I stepped on this movable showerhead that was going on the floor going off. The damn metal cut into my foot, leaving a huge gash that made me bleed gallons. I still have that scar to this day. |
