For a while now the place I work for has been using virtualdub to analyse horse racing videos.

The reason why we use VD is that it can go backwards and forwards between frames at a click of button and the people who work on the videos can see the details they need to see.

However VD does not open wmv files and this is where the problem is. (the others are divx)

Does anyone know of any advanced video players that will also open wmv files and it will lets us do frame by frame jogging.

I would like it so the jogging is done with the keyboard and not clicking mouse buttons.

Freeware software is the best solution, however we are willing to use shareware or any other software if we really must.

Media Player Classic does frame by frame advance. Just use the arrow keys. And it's free!

Unfortunatly you can only do frame by frame in the forwards direction!

I need to be able to do frame by frame in both directions.

Any other suggestions? I was hoping that VLC might have a plugin.
