A mate at work asked me for a DVI to VGA adapter for his new monitor, I duly obliged but he reckons that's not what his looks like.
He probably knows more about PC's then I do so I believe him when he says his monitor has a DVI cable but without the extra bar and four pins you get. I've scoured the intermahweb and cant find any DVI cable or adapter that only has the main block of pins. Does anyone know/have this kind of connector? He's got a Hitachi 17" ldc CML174SXW2 if it helps, their site doesnt have any info. EDIT: At the end of Google Images I've found a DVI-D to HDMI adapter. Cant find one to go to the normal DVI tho. |

That would appear to be a DVI-D connector (no analog) so I'm doubtful a DVI-VGA adapter would work.
http://www.ciao.co.uk/Hitachi_CML174SXW2__5635118 http://www.interfacebus.com/Design_C...e_DVI_Bus.html It looks like it can use a VGA cable though. Expansion / Connectivity Interfaces: 1 x VGA - 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15) 1 x DVI-D - 24 pin digital DVI |
