Default Post Your Equipment (Astronomy)
I dont think i have ever seen such a thread here before.

In light of yesterday nights clear skies, as i was checking out NGC 1977, 2024 and orion nebula and couldnt get andromeda because of an almost full moon i wondered to myself what other users here may use in their sessions? If you like include pics.

If your into astrophotography feel free to post images and which equipment was used also.

I've been wanting to buy myself a telescope for a good 4 years now and I remember doing a lot of research into which make/kind I should buy.

I remember picking a Newtonian refractor ( I heard reflectors are better but demand more care) by Celestron, but never had the extra cash to get it...

I think I might invest in one next semester. Whats a good starting telescope anyway? I have no background in astronomy. All I know is, I want something that'll have lasting appeal.

I've got a Tasco/Celestron NexStar 4. Celestron Mak at Tasco prices. I'm glad Celestron's back from the dead (but not that it's Synta now...) and that Tasco didn't have the opportunity to totally destroy the brand before going bust, but I think I capitalized on a pretty rare opportunity with this telescope.

I'm currently using one of these:

Cheap (particularly so, as I got at half price) and cheerful, I need some more eyepieces to make the most of it but given how little time I have for astronomy at the moment, it'll have to do.

They are the ones. my plan is to get a long focal refractor. f9.4 or something liek this for planets and the moon. and a 12 - 16" lightbridge for DSO's
