Taco Bell sucks

Well, it's about time to go get some lunch. I work nights so the choices are limited. I would like to get some tacos, but I just hate taco bell. The taco shells are manufactured to not break wich affects their texture and taste. The meat is... well, is that even meat? The cheese on the taco is about 3 pieces of shreadded cheese and the bean burritos are watery. So gross.

If anyone has ever been to Taco Casa, that's where it's at. If you can remember what taco bell was like about fifteen years ago or so, that's what Taco Casa is. But, taco casa closed hours ago.

Taco Bueno would be an option, but they're already closed too. Taco Bueno is not as good as taco Casa, but better than Taco Bell.

I went to Jack in the Box yestreday and it's ok, if you get the Pita or their so called "tacos". But i'm not going there again tonight.

Mc Donalds is pretty cheap... maybe I'll go there. Wataburger is another option, but the retards that work there overnight serve stale, cold fries and hamburgers.

Wow... simply no choices. The Wendy's that was close to here is now closed down, but they would be closed now anyway.

There is Steak and Shake... I'm just not too impressed by that overpriced place.

Is there anything I'm missing? I can't think of any other options.

My choices for lunch tonight is crap or other crap. I need a woman at home to make me a sammich.

Ok, that's my rant. I was hoping that typing all this would help me decide what I wanted for lunch... but it hasn't.

The Taco Bell in my area rocks. They pile on the toppings evenly, and I have no complaints about the quality of the food there. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/excited1.gif

I know what you mean about eating out on the night shift thogh. I have the same problem. Do you have a Perkins in your area? They're open 24 hours. (Pricey though).

lorryuncori 09-11-2006 03:58 PM

No Perkins here. I don't even know what that is.

I knew a Bobby Perkins in college. He could play a mean bass. I ran into him a few years later playing a gig in some bar in Austin.

I'm in Texas, by the way.

The Nachos Bell Grande is pretty good, and if you can insist on getting them fresh the gorditas are awesome.

Pity you don't live in Los Angeles. You'd never want for a decent taco thanks to http://tacohunt.blogspot.com/
Reading that site always makes me hungry http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/unsure1.gif

edit: on a side note, I can't stop pronouncing Los Angeles like "los ang-ee-lees" ever since I watched the start of The big Lebowski the other day :o

I agree with you man.
going to lunch after midnight is so horrible. not only almost every good place is closed, but you also get:
-no fresh ingredient
-meat(if that is what they serve) has been on the grill for far too long already
-and they peeps working there just dont give a $hit about their job, so its a garantee your food wont taste good.

one of the reason I took evening shift instead of night shift.

Normally, I do work the evening shift, but our 3rd shift guy quit a few weeks ago and I was the only capable person to cover 3rd shift. I only have a couple weeks left when my replacement comes back from maternity leave.

Also, I ended up going to Wataburger and WOW it was GOOOD. I was driving by and saw two people already in the drive -through, so I figured that would ensure, at least, fresh french fries. Ordered my double-meat burger, no tomatos, no onions and with cheese and a cherry pie. She said they would have to make the pies because they didn't have any and it would take about 10 minutes. I said never-mind the pie. Well, I get my food, and she had to coook the fries fresh and the pies were done cooking by that time anyway, so she gave me one for free!!

I must admit, that lunch was much better than I expected it to be tonight. The Wataburger lady, eventhough she has some smashed looking nose, was very nice.

kucheravka 09-12-2006 12:21 AM

Taco Casa? Never even heard of that. You say Wataburger, are you in Texas? Man, I miss Wataburger :( Do you have any Taco Cabana's around? Those are the ****! And you can buy Margharitas there too! SCORE!

What about Chipotle? Can't go wrong there either!

Edit: I just read something about being in Austin, TX. I lived there about 2 years ago, awesome place. Taco Cabana was my favorite Taco Place.

I cant believe you guys can eat that stuff. Taco Bell, McDonalds, Burger King, etc. I stopped eating in a couple of years ago because it was just disgusting the ammount of fat it had in it and the quality was terrible. The only fast food I eat is Chipotle, Noodles, or Subway. At Chipotle and Subway they make the food in front of you so you know what you're eating, and Noodles is not nearly as unhealthy as burger joints/taco bell.

lisualsethelp 09-12-2006 02:21 AM

I vote for Subway.

Well, dunno for you, but here Subway isn't 24/7. So for a late snack, its either junk food or no food.

Man - wishe Subway was 24/7.. that would rock..

I need to get a picture of my Subway napkin pile online... It's quite literally a 3.5+ foot pile of subway napkins (think a hair over 2 standard size computer cases tall). I've been collecting them for a couple years now.
Yeah... I eat at Subway occasionally.

But Taco Bell... that's like, the bottom of the fast food chain. I don't know why, but every Taco Bell I've ever been to is flat out horrible. You'd think it's just one or two stores, but no, every one of them! Does that stop me from going? Sadly, no.

Yeah, you mess around too much with Taco Bell and your bound to shart yourself sooner or later.

TeapseTic 09-12-2006 03:58 AM

I used to like Taco Bell. Our Taco Bells would just PILE on the food. It would be hard for me to eat just one 1/2lb burrito.

Though for some reason, just recently, they have been cutting back on the amount of food that they are using. I guess that the prices went up or something. The 1/2lbs are now more like a bean burrito and the bean burrito is now for like a 4 year old. I can easily eat 3 to 4 1/2lbs burritos now because they are so small.

Its weird because it isnt just one Taco Bell, it is 3 Taco Bells that are 20 minutes apart.

Maybe the same guy owns these three, and either wants more money for himself now, or the prices went up on food. The food was piled on for years, so just a dramatic and recent change doesnt make much sense to me.
