Just trying to induce a little sensible discussion about music here, instead of mindless statements.
That went out the window when you came it calling it ****. [rofl]

I love the music and so do many others:

At least some people have sense here......Metallica's St Anger opened Number One in over 30 countries. Does that mean it's the best album ever......quite the contrary.

So far it's 'Call Me When You're Sober', but I'm sure they'll have more out soon...

Call Me When You're Sober is OK, but really, far from the best track on the CD (picked it up after work). I haven't made it all the way through, but I'm liking Cloud Nine (track 5) and Lose Control (track 9)

Too many to mention but you could build up a list and I could tell which suck and which don't.......any why they do or don't.

Now can you tell me why this last Evanescence album is so good ? Enlighten me please ?
Why the hell do you have to enter every damn music thread and drop your big pile of elitist crap all over it?? [cursing]

I don't really like Evanescence, but I don't feel the need to bash them just because this thread exists.

Your constant crapping on music threads is getting beyond a joke.

Just trying to induce a little sensible discussion about music here, instead of mindless statements.
But you don't. Your participation in these type of threads usually consists of "that's ****", and "it's just commercial generic crap". Does music have to be obscure to be worth anything? You constantly claim not to be elitist, but prove the opposite every time.

Just a quick word to everyone - if you disagree with someones music taste, then by all means say so, but do it in a NICE way, without being abusive and condecending please.

Justin Timberlake's latest album is quite an improvement over his last one. I'm listening to it right now.

Sorry I will try to stop being condescending in future posts and show my arguments better.

W/E buddy!

There's nothing like a breakup to focus your muse. This follow-up to the stunning, multi-platinum Fallen was penned as singer Amy Lee's troubled romance with band mate Ben Moody was spiraling out of control, impelling her to craft an anxious record full of recriminations, revelation, and self-flagellation, as she questioned everything that kept her whole. It's a fascinating journey for the listener as she ventures into her own personal heart of darkness, her stricken, perfect voice suspended on an unsteady precipice between breakdown and breakthrough. Despite the loss of two members, including guitarist Moody who left mid-tour in 2003, the album has a maturity, sophistication, and a singular vision that wasn't found in their earlier work. Stately and as exotic as Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti, with its intricate instrumentation, disturbing imagery, and disembodied chorus, The Open Door shows exactly what this band is capable of. "You Belong to Me," is a goth-y alternative to "Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together," equally anthemic, but with much more grit and pain. --Jaan Uhelszki THE OPEN DOOR TOPS CHARTS WORLDWIDE
THE OPEN DOOR debuted at #1 in the U.S., Australia, Germany, Greece, Japan, and Switzerland and was in the Top 5 in Austria, Canada, France, Holland, Hong Kong, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden, UK, Ireland, Korea, Norway, and Denmark!

Evanescence isn't my cup of tea, but I think I can understand the attraction to the music for some people. The gal's voice (even though I don't really like the style) is different enough when coupled with the music (simplistic as it is) to create something fairly unique. The write-up by Jaan piques my interest a tad, maybe I'll check out a couple of songs online & see if it's interesting...

Once in awhile I find a band that isn't within the scope of what I normally listen to and for some reason I really like it. That's the way I am with The Killers. Their new CD took some getting used to but now I can't rip it out of my CD player, much to my Opeth CD's dismay LOL...

What is it with people on here dissing others musical tastes? Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but damn just because YOU dont personally like a group does not automatically make them ****. Some people think they are the word on music here and some kind of musical buffs [rofl]

We are all the same here, and NOBODY knows better than the next person. I have had threads trashed because others think they are above me, when i reality it is just a personal opinion that holds ZERO weight with me. [rofl] To the OP stick to your guns, if ya like em cool! Dont let the pricks here tell you otherwise.

I personally found the original album was a bit too samey. There was not enough variation in the songs, has this changed for the latest one?

Came off of amazon.com but here is another one.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...KG0SJ739Q1.DTL

Scroll down till you see Evanescence. 5 out of 5 buddy.

Still think you're mr.expert on good music? [rofl]

I'm half joking, if you don't like it thats cool, but you have to realize that the reason you don't like it is because its not your taste; doesn't mean its bad music. [yes]
