Default Krone Terminal Block Installation help !!!!!
Can anyone please tell me how you fit an Cat5e cable in a krone block.

It's normal cat 5e with 4 pairs.....is there a sequence or a certain colour code to it.

Got all the tools needed, cable tester, cutter punchdown tool etc....just can't figure it out.

umm...

on the back of our server racks we use krone to RJ-45 converters. So you just plug in a normal ethernet cable.

I never done any krone work though, that's left to other people.

what are you using the krone for?

sort of like this...

I've seen them in different orders, ther's no color coding sticker? I have one for my house and it's marked clearly where the wires go..

If they aren't marked then you are going to have to get instructions from the manufacturer.

but just to let you try this order, here's the order on mine

1.brown
2.brown/white
3.Green
4.Green/white
5.orange
6.Orange/white
7.Blue
8.Blue/white

Now mine has the crossover built in. but some require you to wire them in the same order as you would a RJ45.

which is (from tab side) brown--brown/white--green--blue/white--blue--green/white--orange--orange/white

this is if they are in a row. if they are a split design (4 wires on one side and 4 on the other) The orders could be anything. I have 2 wall mounts by 2 manufacturers that are totally different order from one another.

That's about all I can tell you.

depends on whether you are doing a or b wiring.

here is the pinouts for each
http://www.lanshack.com/make-cat5E.aspx

BTW the B method is the most common so I would go with that.

Thanks for all the replies.

Yes the units are just like Lenny showed.......I am trying to it all out.

It seems that the pairs in the terminal are mixed around, [cursing] [cursing]

So I choose between A and B ?

The tester is giving me a cross error every time.

A is mostly used in the States and B is used everywhere else, both should work though, as log as both ends follow the same standard. The only real differense between the two is that the 568A is a litte easier to wire if you have a punsh block, like your krone patch connector.

One thing about the Krone is that it uses a special punchdown tool. Also, kudos on the Krone makes a quality product.

It really doesn't matter if you use the A, or B as long as you use the same one on the other side of the cable.

I have never actually seen any place wired with the A style. Maybe the Midwest just likes B .

Systimax has a similar system which I consider to be a bit better.

Yep....really great and easy.

I just had to change the other terminal too seems like the ****tard who installed the terminals the first time used a config of his own. I used B on both and work perfect. When the 4 lights on the tester lit up I swear I could hear angels singing after all that hassle.

Thanks to every one for their help.

The only difference between A and B is pins 1,2 and pins 3,6 (orange and green) are reversed. The data doesn't know the difference. Also Krone (ADC) is bar none the best product out there.
