That's so nice. Now tell me, what exactly did George Bush do for Zambia?

I would like to take a moment of silence to thank our American veterans for their sacrifices for corporations.

1) What is the percentage of your platoon, company, whatever, that feels this way?
2) Where is Forrest Gump when you need him?

Doncarlito 07-21-2012 04:02 PM

There's a whole website and facebook page with these guys with such messages (when did this whole taking a picture of you holding a sign of text come about? The 99% thing?).

This one was funny. Wonder why MrFun didn't put this one up:

Maybe Oerdin can tell us if there's something else called 'indoctrination' in the Army but I assume Army indoc is like Marine Corps indoc which is the first 1-2 weeks of basic training.

This guy (with his American flag upside down) seriously went AWOL 2 weeks at best into basic?

They're fat losers who played too much Halo, and now they're criminals and keyboard warriors. http://www.discussworldissues.com/im...ons/icon14.gif

If you joined the military after the Iraq War started and then complained about the war you are a ****ing idiot, it's that simple.

edit: also it would be hilarious if someone thought the anti-war movement had leaders who could officially "excommunicate" these idiots and "throw them to the curb hard".

Jesus USMC commitments are long. My AROTC contract (which I haven't signed, and won't for a year or two) is a 6-2 split as an officer in the Guard. Enlistments in the Guard are often 4-4 I think.

I think something like 20k people have been called up in the IRR over the last 10 years. Totally population of IRR is pretty big so I don't think that's a huge proportion.
It still happens. And any given soldier SHOULD expect the possibility. That's why they're not supposed to get out of regulation while on IRR.

But yeah. No fancy bonuses either. 'We don't promise you a rose garden' and all that.

I think you need to do a 6-2 split to qualify for GI benefits, though. I would expect that's military-wide.

xiaoselangone 07-21-2012 07:19 PM

That is unfortunate.

You guys need a crash course on media literacy, to know the difference between propaganda and facts; and learn critical thinking skills while you're at it. We are not fighting wars for freedom; we're fighting wars so that defense contract companies can make profit.

ethigSmimbine 07-23-2012 11:30 AM

Cliche much?

Cogebrego 07-23-2012 04:33 PM

That is definitely a side benefit http://www.discussworldissues.com/im...ons/icon14.gif

Blackwater can't outsource so double benefit.
