Default Wanna buy a tv, help me out
Will be used for movies, maybe some gaming later...

I don't really want to spend more than $5-600...

Here's a pic of my setup waiting for a tv (pardon my roomate's clutter...):

I'm assuming most tv's now come standard with the red/white RCA inputs so my sound system will be compatible? And I'm also assuming most will come standard with a hdmi/vga-whatever slot so I can stream movies from my laptop?

Anyways, I haven't had time to keep up with technology and the latest deals, so any input is greatly appreciated!

Hmm, how far away will you be sitting?

I'm pretty sure the only thing you'll be able to get in that price range is a 720p plasma.

The room is only like a 20x20. Or maybe smaller

So... how far away will you be sitting? If you get a 50" 720p plasma, and you sit 10-12ft from the screen (totally plausible in a room that size), you'll be good.

You can pick up at 32 inch LED for around $400 now.

My first question would be what would you be using the TV for? Will it be used in a sunny room? If you plan on using it during the day, LED TV's tend to work better in bright light while plasma has richer black levels in the dark. Is size or power consumption an issue? If not, get a plasma.

Yes, we need to know your seating situation. How far back, angle...etc.(Atleast I do to make a fair guess for a TV in that range)

Plasma's are a little higher priced, but better quality. The Vizio might be interesting cause it has Wi-Fi and Apps for things like Netflix and Facebook.

If you can bump the budget a little it will be much more worthwhile to get a 50" 1080p plasma.
