What do you like about Google Chrome?

Starts up faster than FF

teentodiefows 06-26-2011 01:32 AM

I use Firefox, but I'm exploring what Google Chrome offers in way of features and efficiency.

rhiniddibiarmr 06-26-2011 02:04 AM

The only time I use it is when I want to log in some where with an AE.

AsmViktor 06-26-2011 03:43 AM

That does it. 1 star.

Greactbet 06-26-2011 04:56 AM

Speed.

Eek - has this ever happened with someone using Google Chrome?

clitlyphype 06-26-2011 09:52 AM

The way you can boot it up, open up a new tab, and immediately see handy thumbnails of the pornography the previous user was looking at.

Invisible Mode http://www.discussworldissues.com/im...ons/icon14.gif

(Although I once opened chrome at uni and had a porn thumbnail in there http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/lol.gif I quickly erased it.)

because they are depraved.

Dwnijzhd 06-28-2011 06:31 PM

Seriously, it sends me an e-mail saying "MrFun just tried to import his Firefox bookmarks, and they are depraved."

Gastonleruanich 06-28-2011 06:48 PM

Did you try undepraving them?

TimEricsson 06-28-2011 06:53 PM

It clearly states on their webpage they only import non-depraved bookmarks. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/rolleyes.gif

PhilipBartew 06-28-2011 07:21 PM

I'm using FF 5.0 since a few days. Is this completely uncool now?

I think it has still a laggy startup procedure, though it feels a tiny bit faster in that regard than the previous version.

kazinopartnerkae 06-28-2011 10:10 PM

Is the chrome settings folder write-protected?

pongeystrhjst 06-29-2011 02:46 AM

W7: C:\Users\Simon\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome

Drive and username might not be the same ;-)

start -> %appdata% up one step -> local -> google

Nosmas 06-29-2011 06:28 AM

Bookmarks seem to reside in Chrome\User Data\Default

nicktender 06-29-2011 07:08 AM

Notepad++ reveals the extensionless file has the bookmarks, and the .bak file is a backup. Try deleting both and booting crome, and attempting to import bookmarks then.

Question: Can you add new bookmarks?
