Default Michelle Obama's big-day outfit
I was heartbroken to see c-list fashion designer Isabel Toledo's inaugural suit for Michelle Obama. First of all, glitter at 11 AM is just wrong. It was a mother-of-the-bride outfit.... and the green gloves and shoes... just awful. And the coat had a white lining... that's cheap looking, not very refined. Not as bad as the election night Halloween dress... but c'mon American designers, show a little respect.

Michelle Obama is hot and would look good in anything. I love her wide, curvacious hips.

Biden's wife is hot too for an older babe.

If you commented about clothes worn by Rosie O'Donnell, Diane Feinstein, etc. I would refrain from commenting about their looks.

However, if you even mention Dana Perino, I lose control.

Isn't the left ball supposed to hang lower?

I dunno. I haven't done a survey.

As for fashion? So long as she was not wearing anything from Palin's wardrobe (from SoHo to the Outdoor Store, all in one closet!) I am fine.

Hell, it's what they do AFTER all this hooplah dies down that concerns me.....

I don't know, but I do know that I'd like to give her a "pearl necklace."

Good chance is might be very cold in January. Outdoor event. So you design a coat that doesn't close.

Evening gown even worse. The bedspread in Aunt Agatha's guestroom. Made Michelle look fat. Ten inaugural balls, dancing, and Barack is stepping on the too-long hemline.

Is it so hard to design for a tall woman?

Fat? She has an awesome, curvacious body. Her hips and but have the irresistible curves of a Ferrari.

She looked good to me.

I think she looked awful.

I did not watch most of yesterdays events, but that slime green outfit belongs back in the 50's where it came from and that ball dress looks like it was from a Junior Prom, all covered in Dingle-bery like cotton puffs.

Oh, I am sorry, they were flowers.

Why the hell can't the first lady look sexy? Why does every one of them have to dress like a frump? Will it be Pant-suits from now on?

Agreed, she should not be dressed like a fashion model or arm-candy but come ON!!!!

LOL!

I thought they looked great together. The hue of her dress was a nice contrast to Obama's ensenble.
That being said, me commenting on fasion is like having Rosie O'Donnell comment on structural integrity

That suit was not yellow... it was yellow/green.... I'd call it "hepatitis-sea".

It's a color that does not sell, that no one wants. That's a suit you'd find on the rack, on sale, at the end of the season. Isabel Toledo has been on the fashion scene since the 1980's but has never really made it... she designed Anne Klien for like maybe a season and was let go. There's a reason for all that. The ball gown looked like a chenelle bedspread but at least it was white... a color that looks good on her.

BUT Aretha Franklin's bow hat was xtra fabulous.

Watch slim and cute 22 yr. old Aretha on Shindig in 1964. In total command.

She was too skinny there. I like a bigger butt and curvier hips like Michelle has. J-Lo and Beyonce started the "junk in the trunk" look, and I quite like it.

Aretha is now obese. Tina Turner, by contrast, looks awesome. She's probably in her 70's and yet very doable.

Please, we are trying to have a serious conversation.

The title of this thread is, "Michelle Obama's big-day outfit" and not "Michelle Obama's big-butt outfitted".

Well you know what they say....

He "likes big butts and [he] can't deny".....

By the way, the green does not look like Hep green. It looks more like the dribble/spun glass lamps from the 60's green. Sort of a lemony Avacado.

But I'm one of the few really straight ones. Thus, for most posters, there's no need to pretend. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
