If you somehow end up here in the upper middle part of the continent and it isn't winter, Minnesota has the Mall of America, nice place to roam even if you don't intend on buying anything (and you can buy everything). If you want to escape the world, try a hike up in the boundary waters area. If you're in Wisconsin, the Dells are a great getaway for a family or a couple, really nice scenery. South Dakota has some fun "wild west" historical locations, and with a good vacation plan you can really feel like you're smack dab in the middle of the 1860's if you like that sort of thing.
If you're up around here in the winter, you're best off just leaving, lol. But if you're stuck, get your ass on a snowmobile and have a blast, or find a ski mountain and pack something hot to drink in a thermos. |
