Default UN authorizes `all necessary measures' in Libya
Is the U.N. going to kick in some funds to the U.S. and Great Britain for the cost, or is it expected that being the ones dirtying our hands is payment enough?

Proportionately, it is. As far as "thinking we're the only one", I said, and you quoted, credit to Great Britain. I'm not going to debate you about the action. If you think Gadaffy is the good guy, that's your right. You also disagree with even the Arab League, but again, that's your right.

The icing on the cake?

The US owes the UN tons of money in dues that they've not paid. It's something like half a billion dollars last I checked. Or did they finally pay up?

Edit: I stand corrected, Obama paid up the debts. The Republicans, just last month, have introduced bills to try to stop paying the UN again.

Speaking of "good guys", lets recap "good guys" by the US standards:

Saddam Hussein

The US funded and trained Osama Bin Laden

The Gadhafi regime:

I'm sure I'm missing a lot, too.

The Americans were way late in both world wars. Canada was there from the start, fighting the good fight.
You couldn't finish the job. Someone had to take care of things.

The Americans only joined one of them. Second time around, they waited until the bombs were falling on them.

And in the other, they waited til one of their ships was torpedoed...

"Someone" waited til the Axis was weak before leisurely deciding to attack. Don't confuse heroism with cowardice.
We waited til our competitors had destroyed themselves. Cowardice and heroism don't enter into calculations of when yo enter a war. We weren't a lackey of a second rate European power like yourselves and felt no real compunction to enter into a European scrap.

Justify your cowardice all you want, the fact that you guys are overcompensating now tells us all we need to know. We get it, you ****ed up. We forgive you. Now stop bombing people.
We were the only real winner of WW2. What do we have to compensate for?

Not to mention the US cheated by dropping nukes. They couldn't take the Japanese on man on man, so they resorted to exploits.

That's the only way to explain it.

It's ****ing impossible for the Americans to win any war with technology as pathetic as Shermans, by the way.

See? You can't play a man's game. That's why you resort to long distance wars.

They rebooted and reloaded at Midway, six times.

To be honest, it was the Japs that lost connection every time.

As an Englishman, perhaps the worst line I have heard comes from the film "Pearl Harbor" (which was a terrible film for a start) where the bombing started, one of the guys asks the other what is going on, and the other replies "I think World War II has just started".

ARGHHHHHH!
